Library [08/17]
There was a chicken in the library.
"Book book book book," the chicken said, scratching at the service desk.
For the third time that morning, Thursday gave the chicken a book. This time it was Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens (not to be confused with Darles Chickens). The chicken tucked the ridiculously enormous book under its wing and jumped off the desk, disappearing out the door with it.
This time, Thursday couldn't resist the urge to follow to find out where the chicken was taking the book. She followed it outside and down to the Preserve where she saw the chicken give the book to a frog sitting by a small pond.
"Book book book book," the chicken said hopefully.
"Readit," the frog said. "Readit."

Thursday shook her head and returned to the library.

Rubbing his forehead, he closed his notebook and took a minute to look around him in appreciation, before carefully reshelving the books he'd used.
"Your collection is very impressive," he told Thursday as he returned to the desk, a note of awe in his voice. "I have never seen such extensive records! I think every moment of the school's history must be contained there!"
