Library - 8/7

After laughing a lot at Umbridge's latest announcement, Isabel went to open the library.

"Hi Bridge," Isabel waved, pushing the last chair into place. "What's up?"

"A certain temporary principal who happens to sort-of share my name is in for a lot of trouble if she tries to enforce that stupid curfew," Bridge says.

"Oh yeah, I just know I'll be rushing back into in order to be all tucked in before 11," she said with fake seriousness.

"It would be a reasonable request if there were, you know, demons or evil aliens running around town. But there's not!" Bridge says. "Things are normal. Well, Fandom-normal."

"I'm not arguing," Isabel said, shaking her head. "It's nothing more then a woman on a power trip looking to make our lives miserable."

"Thankfully I have someone in town I can stay with if I choose to break the rules," Bridge says with a grin. This whole deliberately-breaking-rules thing is kind of new to him.

"Lucky you," she grinned. "I'll just have to sneak back in. Oh well."

"Being a troublemaker, breaking curfew, it's very hard work," Bridge says solemnly.

"Very," Isabel said. "But somebody has to do it."

"Speaking of trouble, anything exciting in library land today?" Bridge asks.

In his head that's totally a valid segue.

"Nothing in library land," she replied, looking away for a moment. "But in Isabel land, well, I'm going back to Roswell on Thursday."

"For a visit?" Bridge asks, a bit of worry creeping in to his tone.

"Partly. But then I'm going to try to make contact with Max and Michael," Isabel said quietly. "And hopefully get them to take me back."

"Back... you mean, to Antar?"

"Yeah," Isabel nodded. "They need me."

Bridge starts to say something, then stops. Responsibility is something that he can understand. "Will you come back?"

"I don't know. If I can make contact? Probably not." And that's the toughest thing, saying goodbye and not knowing for how long. "If can't? Then yeah, I'll be back."

Bridge sighs. "The selfish part of me wants you to come back," he says. "But... I know Max and Michael will need your help, if you can contact them."

"The selfish, scared part of me, doesn't want to go back," she admitted. "It's not a fun place. But I couldn't live with myself if I didn't try."

"And that's what makes you you," Bridge says with a smile. "That you're willing to do that."

"Thanks," Isabel said with a sad smile. "I'll email or something. Just to let everyone know. And if you don't see that, well check with Parker. She'll definitely know."

"Does Xander know yet?" Bridge asks.

"No. I'm going to go talk to him tomorrow." And won't that be a fun conversation. She was getting sick of goodbyes.

Bridge doesn't say anything, just reaches out to offer Isabel a hug if she wants one.

That was an offer Isabel would never turn down. "Take care of yourself okay?" she asked, squeezing him tightly.
