Detention [Saturday, 08/04]

Hannelore had stayed up all night planning detention, though students might not have realized upon entering the Danger Shop, as it was as sparse as she kept it for most of her workshops.

She'd written on a whiteboard:

Zack Addy
Dick Casablancas
Jim Halpert
Henry Jekyll

and paced while she waited for students to file in. "So, since detention is, you know, a bad thing, you guys get to deal with some of the things I hate like burning, and one of the things I love to soften the blow. It should be fun. I'm here if you need anything, and so is Winslow. You might need him, believe it or not. So...have fun, guys."

As soon as the first activity was over, the Danger Shop changed to a blue apartment (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=427), devoid of any humans, but filled with tiny, colorful robots.

Tiny, colorful robots that were drinking and knocking things over.

Your mission? Keep the adorable little terrors from outright destroying the apartment.

Staring at the robots, Zack fingers started twitching again.

Two little robots can scampering up to Zack.

"Hi!" said the blue one.

"Did you bring the keg?" asked the pink one.

Zack rubbed his hands together. "Yes, yes I did."

"I don't see it," the blue one said suspiciously.

"It's just in the kitchen," Zack said, hoping there were some tools there.

"Why's it in there?" the pink one wondered with distaste.

"Oh my god," Jim said. He hated today so much.

A robot wearing...something that looked like a coffee filter on his head came bounding over to Jim. "You're not on the list," he accused, only slightly wobbly.

"I'm here from the leasing office. Neighbors are complaining about the noise," Jim said.

"Hey, what say we settle this like gentlemen and you just stay for the party?" Pintsize asked, holding out his hand (as it were) to shake. It rather obviously had some money in it. Such things happen when you have no fingers.

"What are you trying to do here?" Jim asked. "Is this... a bribe?"

"I don't think of it as bribing," Pintsize assured him, "so much as...security. But yeah, it's a bribe."

Dick kind of wished he brought Sparkles with him. That'd put the tiny robots in their place.

He didn't want to stop them as much as he wanted to join them.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii," drawled a little red robot as he wandered over, clearly a bit inebriated.

"Hey dude." said Dick. "You have a couple drinks today?"

"Only a couple. This party's kinda lame," he replied. "We should blow stuff up!"

"Yeah!" said Dick, excitedly. But then he remembered where he was. "I mean, no. We shouldn't blow stuff up. It's wrong."

"What? Why?" asked the little red robot. "I bet I could program one of the passed out AnthroPCs to detonate!"

Henry stared for a second. He thought that robots were supposed to be helpful and kind! He started to run around, trying to pick them up.

A wee white robot dashed by, laughing maniacally as a cord of Christmas lights trailed after him.

Surely that wasn't going to be used for any sort of robotic evil.

Reacting, Henry stepped on the wire. He crushed a bulb, but it held tight under his shoe.

The poor wee robot fell over itself due to the unexpected yank. "Hey!"

Henry took a breath for calming. It helped a little.
"If you please, I'd like to help restore some order. I'm quite sure that if you have a practical intent for this-" he realized that he had little to no idea what it was. Some kind of plastic string? "-string, I could help you achieve it in a much less rambunctious manner."

"I wanna blow it up," the AnthroPC told him seriously.
