Detention [Saturday, 08/04]

Hannelore had stayed up all night planning detention, though students might not have realized upon entering the Danger Shop, as it was as sparse as she kept it for most of her workshops.

She'd written on a whiteboard:

Zack Addy
Dick Casablancas
Jim Halpert
Henry Jekyll

and paced while she waited for students to file in. "So, since detention is, you know, a bad thing, you guys get to deal with some of the things I hate like burning, and one of the things I love to soften the blow. It should be fun. I'm here if you need anything, and so is Winslow. You might need him, believe it or not. So...have fun, guys."

The Danger Shop had transformed into a fairly typical-looking coffee shop, though students might notice that the specials board was...eccentric (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=371#).

Behind the counter, there was a curvy brunette with a scowl. Behind her were two women with black hair and a bespectacled blonde, but it seemed that the brunette girl was manning the register and taking orders. She looked happy as can be to be there, really.

As soon as the first activity was over, the Danger Shop changed to a blue apartment (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=427), devoid of any humans, but filled with tiny, colorful robots.

Tiny, colorful robots that were drinking and knocking things over.

Your mission? Keep the adorable little terrors from outright destroying the apartment.

Hannelore wouldn't be eating (and obviously neither would Winslow), but there was still an array of food brought from Ching Tai, and an almost equally large pile of wet naps brought from Hannelore's apartment.

The Danger Shop changed once again to an immaculate, white apartment (http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=590). There were suction cups and jumpsuits, as well as an array of cleaning products and several ladders.

Hannelore, for her part, was already happily upside-down dusting off in a corner, because virtual or not, dust was dust.

But not about Faye. She's scared of her too.

Okay so here's the deal: I have stupid work until 3 EST, but I am actually around the rest of the day. Go ahead and ping into a thread, and I'll toss the appropriate NPC at you. The ceiling thread can pretty much just be talking and stuff, because Hanners is too happy cleaning to care if you talk.

And now I go back to not being so OCD, because omg, exhausting.

Jim had a headache for some reason that probably involved last night coffee would actually be a good idea.

"Hi. I'll just have a regular coffee, black." He was a simple guy with simple food and drink orders.

"Black coffee, thanks," Zack said.

Staring at the robots, Zack fingers started twitching again.

"Oh my god," Jim said. He hated today so much.

Zack tucked into a box of kung pao chicken. Mmm, chicken.

Zack pulled on a jumpsuit and set of suction cups and started climbing one of the ladders.

"How creative of you," Faye replied. "Let's review. Black coffee would mean no milk and no sugar, which you'd put in yourself anyway, so thanks for specifying that, though you do get points for not trying some Starbucks crap on me."

She went to get the coffee pot. "So are you from some special planet where when people eat their vegetables they grow like ups but just don't stop?" she wondered. "Or are you just freakishly tall for a human?"

"It'll stunt your growth," Faye replied immediately. "You sure you don't want to just take some milk with you back to the seventh grade?"

"I'm a senior," Zack said. "And there's no scientific evidence of caffeine stunting growth."

"Senior in what?" Faye repeated. "And there's plenty of stuff that doesn't have scientific backing but that doesn't mean it's not true."

Two little robots can scampering up to Zack.

"Hi!" said the blue one.

"Did you bring the keg?" asked the pink one.

A robot wearing...something that looked like a coffee filter on his head came bounding over to Jim. "You're not on the list," he accused, only slightly wobbly.

"High school," Zack replied. "But there have been tests when it comes to caffeine."

Zack rubbed his hands together. "Yes, yes I did."

"I don't see it," the blue one said suspiciously.

"And you performed these tests and know the results are a hundred percent accurate?"
