"Good afternoon Campers!" Dale said cheerfully. "For those of you keeping track you have not only earned your Second Class rank you've also received your First Class rank as well. You should be proud of yourselves. After completing these ranks, you should be adept at participating in all of the activities in the Boy Scout program. You are all literally First Class Scouts.

"Now today we're going to have a special treat for you all. Today we will be focusing on your citizenship merit badges and for that I thought I'd bring in a few guest speakers to discuss what it means to be a citizen in your community, your nation and your world."

He's drinking coffee. What a shock.

After class River approached Dale. "Professor Cooper? I would like to report that my absence last week was due to my being an owl." She paused for a moment. "I guess I could have showed up but I had been out hunting all night."

"I believe I heard something about that on the Radio," Dale said with a slightly concerned look. "In fact I gave you an Aviary studies merit badge based on what I assume was the experience."

Dale paused for a second before continuing.

"Miss Tam, did you interact with any other owls? Maybe in the forest?"

River beamed at the mentioning of the merit badges, then turned serious at his second question. She frowned, tilting her head slightly. "They were not very sociable," she admitted, then added quietly: "I think they are what they seem though."

Dale blinked for a second or two, before giving her a nod.

"Just normal run of the mill owls then," Dale commented and looking a little more at ease. "That's very good to know."

River frowned, looking thoughtful. "Don't think things are ever normal. Just what they seem. Of course, depends on your point of view." Then she smiled again. "I appreciated the experience, although my wardrobe is now in pieces."

"Nothing in Fandom is normal," Dale commented seriously. "That much I have learned since coming here. However since the owls are what they are supposed to be... for the time being... I'll sleep a little better at night."

Then he grinned.

"Sorry about your wardrobe. I guess that's what happens when you randomly change into an animal."

River returned the grin. "An inevitable accident."

Turtle's head titled a little at the new merit badges she'd gotten. "Um, Agent Cooper?"

"Yes, Miss Wexler?" Dale asked, "What can I help you with?"

"Why didn't I get badges for swimming and canoeing? I know my underwater basketweaving is exceptional, really, but I did those activities too..."

Dale checked his list again and frowned. "My apologies, I appeared to have missed that when I copied over my original notes. Additionally I forgot to add your Kamikaze dating merit badge for your participation in the three minute dates on Sunday."

"Oooooooh, kamikaze. Thanks, Agent Cooper!"

Naminé approached Dale after class, a little uncertainly. "May we count this island or school as our community? I'm not sure I have any other."

Dale raised a concerned eyebrow at Namine. "Of course you may. Though... If this is home where did you come from?"

"I left Twilight Town to come here," she said, "though I doubt that's what you mean. I haven't a real home. I sort of just ... came into being."
