Now that the sinkhole's been filled in and smoothed over, there's some cement-work to be done pretty much right on top of it. Not that Xander looks like he's getting Sunnydale flashbacks about that; the thoughtful frown is entirely unrelated. Really.

"The truck did the big parts of it," he says, "But there's paths for a sidewalk laid out that you guys can pour." He points to a small cement mixer, in fact the one that was used to make sure those pesky stones remain in place beneath their feet.

And then there's a safety lecture. You knew there would be.

Bel batted Anders's hands away and gave him a playful shove. "Get out of here, I have to get back to work," he said.

Anders mock-pouted and leaned in for one more kiss. "Fine, but I'm gonna make sure you're too tired to work tomorrow."

Anders drew the kiss out for as long as was acceptably, um, manly, then pulled back. "Yeah," he said over his shoulder as he started to walk away, "but I deliver, don't I?"
