Arts & Crafts 7, Tuesday 5, Main Campfire Area

Steve stood at the edge of a large, tarp-covered area as he waited for the students to assemble. He was dressed in sweats and a t-shirt with 'ARMY' emblazoned across the chest, and grinning broadly. In the middle of the tarps was a large piece of canvas, firmly secured to the ground. Around the perimeter was a lot of paint of many colors in various delivery devices. There were paint-filled Super Soakers and water pistols, paint balloons, and pans of paint.

"If everyone would please take off their shoes and leave them over there out of the splash zone...thank you. Now. Today is our last workshop together, and let me just say you've been a wonderful bunch of students. For our final project we will be working on a piece of collaborative art. Which is to say...

"PAINT FIGHT!"

Teddy raised an already pink and purple spattered eyebrow thanks to a certain winged girl they both knew.

"Dude," he said, looking mournfully up at Teddy. And then totally used it to blitz him.

"Dude!" It was contagious.

Teddy squirted him back, laughing and wiping paint off his face.

That's because 'dude' is the most versatile word in the English language. Any language, really.

Now it was on his toque. Oh, it was on now.

Good, because Teddy was bringing it.

Hey look! There was a paint balloon filled with orange paint. Whatever could Teddy do with that?

Jude tried to evade. Of course, he slipped and faceplanted into a green paint balloon. "Duuuuuude . . ."

Ouch. Teddy crept over, careful not to slip in the paint himself. "You okay?"

Jude got to his knees, shaking his head. "Yeah, I'm fine."

And that's when he chucked the other green paint balloon at Chad's head.
