Construction Site: Wednesday, 6/20, all day

The heat-wave seems to have broken a bit, but there's still plenty of extra water bottles around the job site, in addition to the usual tools, safety equipment, and building materials including more wood that needs cutting to proper length.

"Great job on the not causing maim-age to self or others so far, guys," Xander says seriously as the day starts. His hardhat is high-visibility lime green today. Just because. "Keep it up. Not half bad on the actual building stuff parts, either."

"Uh huh," Bel said. "It's been a long morning, dealing with all this wood."

Anders slung an arm around Bel's shoulders and grinned slyly at him. "Good thing I'm here now, huh?" he asked, smirking.

Bel smirked. "I don't know, I'm so drained and exhausted now," he complained.

Anders rolled his eyes, amused. "Poor baby. Couldn't hold out just a little while longer and wait for me, huh?"

"Maybe you can liven me up again," Bel said, batting his eyes.

"Maybe." Anders made a show of pulling out a nice, big, dripping . . . bottle of Gatorade from the cooler, and setting it in front of Bel, along with a couple of fresh sandwiches and a bunch of grapes. "Good thing I feed you, then, isn't it?"

Bel lifted the bottle to his lips and eagerly sucked the liquid down. "I'd starve without you," he said, wiping off his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Yeah, well, you're welcome." Anders plucked a grape from the bunch and held it up to Bel's lips. "And now I try and earn my schmoop points for the day."

"There's a points system?" Bel asked, sucking the grape from Anders's fingers.

"Oh, yeah. Rack up enough points, get a free toaster," Anders told him -- whimpering just a little bit, because Bel was a tease.

A tease? Never.

"So how do you wanna earn points?" Bel said.

"I brought you lunch. I'm feeding you grapes. Doesn't that count for anything?" teased Anders.

"Yeah, I can give you some points for that," Bel said, grinning.

"Some points? Some points?" Anders poked him in the ribs. "What do I have to do, suck up big-time for the jackpot?"

And that just reminded him of their Vegas trip, and he started to snicker.

"Whaaaaaaaaaat?" Bel said, not getting the reference.

"Just remembering that trip to Vegas, that's all," Anders said with a grin. "And you snuggling me by accident in your sleep, and the vampire show, and you know, it's a really good thing we weren't together then or we might've gotten thrown out of the pool for being all over each other."

Bel actually blushed. "That was an accident," he insisted. He couldn't really say much about the vampire show without incriminating himself.

"Did you just blush?" asked Anders incredulously. "You totally did!"

Not that he was going to say anything, but it was really cute.

"No I didn't!" Bel said firmly.

Anders leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "I won't tell anyone."

"Good, or I'll kick your ass," Bel growled, but it wasn't an angry growl.

No, it was the kind of growl that got him a nuzzle and a surreptitious grope.

Maybe the groping would throw him off just enough to get the best reaction out of what Anders had to say next. "Speaking of that show in Vegas, I found this place online that sells custom-fitted vampire fangs . . ."

Blink, blink.

Cough.

". . . why would you want those?"

"No reason, really," Anders said, with utter and complete innocence. "They just looked kind of cool."

Cough. Cough.

"You wanna be a vampire or something?" Bel said.
