John met the class by the campfire in the cabin clearing ~~as all students had been handwavily informed to do so~~. There was still the usual coffee and sign in sheet, as well as a handout. There was also a pile of equipment -- protective goggles and facemasks, camouflage jumpsuits and a wide variety of weapons.

"Good morning," John said. "Now that you've had a chance to try out and hopefully get comfortable with different types of guns, we're going to have a little fun and test how good you've become in a situation more like real life. I'm going to divide you into two teams and send you out into the woods. The object is to eliminate everyone on the opposing team before they eliminate you.

"Now obviously this isn't something we can use real guns and live ammo for," John said with a faint smile, "so we're going to be using paintball weapons. The handout you picked up gives some basic information on this kind of exercise and there's a number of differently modified paintball guns for you to choose from. The protective goggles and facemasks are mandatory; other than that you can pick and choose among the rest of the equipment for the combination that you think will best help you to win."

John looked around at them. "The teams will be as follows: Team One will consist of Jo Harvelle, Chris Halliwell, Lana Lang, Tannim Drake, Luke Skywalker, Billy Kessler, Z Delgado and Dawn Summers. Team Two will consist of Andros, John Sheppard, Wyatt Halliwell, Abigail Whistler, Peter Pensvie, Eve Levine, Bridge Carson and Turtle Wexler. Are the any questions?"

Once he had answered any questions there were, John said, "Okay, you've ten minutes to get together with your team and arm up. After that it'll be time to head into the woods and start the exercise."

Alas, Abigail made for a pretty tall target, and though Luke's aim might not have been perfect, he still managed to get her. The swear word she let out when she realized she'd been hit might have made that a bit obvious.

Dawn let out a totally stealthy whoop, then aimed and shot at Abigail again, hoping to take her out at the knees.

"Hey!" Abigail exclaimed, dodging just enough for the shot to miss, before taking another shot at Dawn and trying to duck behind the nearest tree.

Luke didn't snicker as he tried to sneak away--it would negate the point of the sneaking--but he did have a pleased smile on his face and not enough face paint to completely disguise him.

If Luke wasn't paying attention, he might not have seen John creeping from behind a tree to take a shot at Luke.

Luke was paying attention and was flat on his stomach as the paintball whizzed above his head.

"Nice try," he said, rolling onto his back and aiming a quick shot back in the general direction the attack had originated.

Dawn crept out of hiding and shot at John while he was focused on Luke, her arm still stinging slightly from where Abigail's paintball had smacked it.

John managed to throw himself behind a tree, avoiding being hit by Dawn and Luke. "What you need is a plan, John," he muttered to himself, peeking from behind the tree to see if he could locate his teammates.

Abigail could tell that someone else from her team was there from the fact that she wasn't the only one going after her targets anymore. Two against two seemed a lot more fair, especially when she peeked out enough to see that it was John. Ducking down, she tried to get closer to him without catching the notice of Dawn or Luke.

Two shots in quick succession whizzed over her head.

Luke had seen her, but Luke'd had pretty recent combat experience.

John saw Abigail trying to make her way to his position, so he laid down some cover fire for her in Luke's general direction.

Dawn was definitely the weakest part of this fight, but that didn't stop her from firing at John, who seemed to be shooting pretty randomly. She hadn't seen where Abigail moved, since she was too busy shooting back at where she thought the shots were coming from.

Thankfully, John's cover fire provided just the distraction Abigail needed to get over to him. "Thank you very much," she said quietly, grinning and shooting towards where she thought the other team was.

"You're welcome," he whispered, firing toward the area where he suspected Dawn was hiding.

"Ow!" Dawn yelled as she took a hit smack in the chest. Yes, big with the stealth, this one. She ducked behind the trees again.

John let out a non-stealthy, "Woot!" at his success, then ducked back behind the tree.

Abigail gave him a playful smack on the arm. "I'm so going to laugh if you get shot now."
