Greetings my dear class. First topic for the day is attendance as it looks like my class is slimming down. In last week’s class, we were missing barefoot_tahiri, cyloninyourhead, magitekboy, pyramid_is_life and radekzelenka. I need to know if these ladies and gentlemen are still interesting in learning cyborg theory. Also, I have heard rumors of some of you transferring out of Fandom High and I would like to know your status as soon as possible.

I’m going to call roll, please respond when you hear your name.

Also, homework has been lax. I received answers to my question on the Matrix from Kawalsky (A-), Anakin (A+) and Beka (A+). I would so like to not fail all of you mid-semester.

Today in class, we shall match up in groups of 2-4 students to discuss the following questions or just gossip, omg, I remember high school:

1) Is it possible for a sentient robot to experience the emotion ‘love’?
2) Discuss the issues inherent in gendering a sentient robot. Can a robotic looking thing (like a Dalek or R2D2) have a gender? Can a human-form robot (like myself, Six, or the Terminator) have a gender?
3) Any good babysitting techniques? My stepdaughter is kind of a handful…

Also, if you could each come by my desk at some point in the class, I’d appreciate it.

It's possible for them to think they're experiencing love. I think. I mean, if you've got the right programming, you can make 'em do anything.

If they can talk, sure. All you gotta do is get 'em to talk like either a guy or a girl. Looks don't hurt either. Gender's all about perception, at least I think so.

I agree on the first one... but I kinda think, maybe... with the second question... are we talking, like Gender as in like, what they are, or, what they think they are?

Uh.. good question. I dunno. Maybe it's that whole "I think therefore I am" stuff?

I mean, like... are we considering their gender to be something just... bio-mechanical?

As in, "is it a guy because it has guy bits", I think. ::blush::

Ohh. I dunno. I suppose I could ask the fembot Professor Carter to show us her bits, but I might get detention.

I would so punch you in the arm if it weren't for the fact it'd hurt me more than you right now...

::sticks out her tongue at Charlie::

Well, when your hands get better, I'll let you punch me.. and teach you how to hold a flamethrower properly.
