Glitter [June 7th, third period]

Rory had sent an ~~utterly and undeniably handwavey~~ email to her students, telling them to meet her in the Danger Shop.

"Hey, guys!" she greeted, waving them in. Today the Shop was completely, stark white -- the walls, the floors, the ceiling. Huge buckets of paint in every color, as well as brushes. And, naturally, their usual array of art supplies.

"So today we're going to have a little contest. I want you to split up into pairs, grab a portion of the wall, and decorate like the wind! The people who do what I judge as the best job get a prize. You can use anything you want, but I'd recommend starting with paint since that way things'll stick."

Luke shrugged. "If he won't tell you about it, he certainly won't tell me."

Not that that would stop him from worrying, of course.

"Leia'll..." he sighed. "Leia'll probably just make a bad week worse," he said finally.

"What a fun weekend to look forward to!" Rory said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Dawn offered to let me come with her to Scottsville," Luke said, "but I said no."

Also, it was Scotland.

"...Sunnydale," Rory corrected, blinking at him.

"Top of an island kind of near Spain?" Luke checked.

"...okay, that's not Sunnydale. That sounds like Scotland," she said, blinking.

"Either way, I'm not going," Luke said, "but I'm pretty sure Artoo's not coming out of the closet this entire weekend."

"He can stay with me, if he wants to hide out," she offered.

Luke had a sudden mental image of Artoo streaking down the hallway wailing to himself the entire way and smiled. "Thanks," he said. "I'll give him the option."

"You can too, though I'm not advocating hiding from your sister as she will kill you for it," Rory said lightly.

"Track me down and kill me, yeah," Luke agreed, making a face. "She yelled. I've never seen her so angry."

"Can you blame her?" Rory asked.

"Not even a little," Luke said. "We've had two very different experiences with him."

"I can try to distract her with, you know, hair-braiding and girl stuff," she offered.

Luke smiled. "Thanks," he said. "I'm not sure how distractable she'll be. I want her to meet Tori, too."

Cue the blushing.

Rory grinned at that. "I still don't need to beat anyone up, right?"

Luke grinned back. "No. She's been really great. I gave her a version of the family history and she didn't run away screaming."

"Really?" Rory smiled."She might be a keeper then."

"Maybe," Luke said, giving her a shy smile. "It's a little early still."

"We're going to make flags for you guys in here next week," Rory teased, grinning.

Luke blinked. "...why?"

"Because we think it's cute," Rory said. "You never heard about this tradition?"

He shook his head. "Do you have flags of a lot of people?" he asked cautiously.

"Jaye was the one who started it last year," she said. "I don't have flags at the moment."

"This planet," Luke said, rolling his eyes good-naturedly. "Just when I think you can't get stranger..."
