Glitter [June 7th, third period]

Rory had sent an utterly and undeniably handwavey email to her students, telling them to meet her in the Danger Shop.

"Hey, guys!" she greeted, waving them in. Today the Shop was completely, stark white -- the walls, the floors, the ceiling. Huge buckets of paint in every color, as well as brushes. And, naturally, their usual array of art supplies.

"So today we're going to have a little contest. I want you to split up into pairs, grab a portion of the wall, and decorate like the wind! The people who do what I judge as the best job get a prize. You can use anything you want, but I'd recommend starting with paint since that way things'll stick."

"Excellent tactic!" Luke said with a mischievous wink. "Do we have any blinking lights to choose from?"

Cedric dug through some art supplies. "I think we could probably get some," Cedric said. "Or make some. It would draw attention to our work of art."

"If I had my wand," he said, nodding. "I could transfigure something else."

"...that doesn't seem physically possible," Luke said, looking a bit perplexed. "Doesn't matter want to stay in its original form?"

He'd never really thought of it scientifically or logically. "I'm...not sure. I transfigured a pillow into a cow this morning."

"It was a request from someone on my floor," he said, nodding. "She needed a cow."

"She asked me a clearly not-as-hypothetical-as-I-thought question about what I'd do if I found a cow in my dorm room," Luke said, frowning.

Cedric started snickering because he couldn't help it. "She put it in someone called Seely's room, I think."

"He told her that chocolate came from chocolate cows," Luke said. "This wasn't true, so she's decided to teach him a lesson."
