Aly had ~~oh so handwavily~~ asked her students to meet her at the main campfire. When then students arrived, they'd see an assortment of devices that looked a lot like bombs running the gamut from the type of bomb you'd see in the movies to less sophisticated devices.

She waited for everyone to arrive then started speaking. "The last few classes, we've talked about how to blow things up. Which is, admittedly, a lot of fun and also what the class is about. Today, however, we're going to talk about what happens when you don't want the bomb to go off. Disabling explosives is a hugely dangerous task, and in general, it's something you want to call in an expert to deal with." She grinned. "But I think we all know that when you need an expert, he or she is usually not around. So today we - and by we, I mean you - are going to work on disarming explosive devices with not quite so many consequences if it's not done correctly."

Gesturing to the assortment of bombs, she started discussing bomb disposal techniques including the use of a pigstick ~~because that term is awesome~~ and the ever-popular cutting of the correctly coloured wires.

"Now the trick here is that these devices aren't bombs. But if they are disengaged incorrectly, they will explode." She grinned. "I hope you wore clothes that can get paint on them. If not -" she pointed to a box "-there are some lovely and very fashionable smocks to put on."

"If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Otherwise, pair up and have fun."

"Covered in pink paint again," Gavin said, blinking.

"At least we know it's not the red wire, or the timer wire."

"Maybe it's the order?" Gavin suggested. "We're cutting them in the wrong order?"

"Blue wire, red wire, timer wire?" Seely suggested.

"I'll cut the blue and the timer since you cut two last time," Gavin said and proceeded to snip the blue wire before handing the cutters to Seely.

Seely carefully snipped the red wire and handed the cutters back to Gavin.

And Gavin cut the timer wire and closed his eyes tightly.

And the bomb was disarmed.

Aly nodded at both of them, trying not to smirk too much at their pinkness.

"Nice job with that one," she said with a grin.

There was no more pink. That was good.

"I hate wires," Gavin muttered.

Seely grinned. "We so rule."

"Except for the pink paint," Gavin said but smiled anyway.

"At least pink's a manly colour," Seely said, smearing paint across his face as he tried to wipe it off. "So, you know Aravis, right?" he asked, completely casually.

"Yeah," Gavin said, nodding. "We've met. She really enjoyed my 'movie' at that festival thing."

Seely wisely didn't let on he thought that movie was hilarious. "You wouldn't happen to have any ideas about showing your appreciation for her enjoyment? Purely out of the kindness of your heart of course."

"I would be very interested in showing my appreciation," Gavin said. "As for ideas, I'd suggest making her entire wardrobe pink but that might be just because I'm covered in pink paint."

"Pink would be an excellent colour for her," Seely agreed. "However, she might be suspicious if we move too soon."

"Right," Gavin said, dropping his voice a bit. "Just let me know and I can help you. I've done laundry before. Not well."

"I'll be in touch," Seely murmured back. "And I'm sure we can do a decent job of it between us."

Gavin sent a look around the room before nodding to Seely. "I think so too."
