Parker had told him that Isabel had gotten injured last week, and Anders had been rather remiss in checking up on her since, so after Aly's workshop he wandered toward the library in hopes of finding her.
"Hey, big sis," he said once he spotted her and headed over.
"No literal thwapping," Anders warned her, though he did go over as bid. "Bel's gonna not be happy if you do. 'sides, you got caught out in the woods too!"
[OOC: No problem -- heading out to a job interview in an hour m'self.]
"Bel can kiss my butt. Besides I'll be thwapping him when I see him to." Funny how that attempted thwap looked more like an attempted hug. "I did. But I'm okay. Just some stitches."
Anders snickered -- because hi, amusing mental image of so-never-going-to-literally-happen -- and hugged her back, still a bit gingerly. "Yeah, same here. Be glad when I can get 'em out, though. They itch like a motherfrakker. But seriously, big sis, I'm glad you're okay."
"Don't worry about it," Anders reassured her. "I haven't exactly been good about coming to find you since I got out of there on Sunday either. Probably wouldn't have known if Parker hadn't called me."
"She must have called to check up on you. I talked to her Saturday night and told her was going on," Isabel told him. "I think she was rather pissed about not being here."
"Considering how she was ranting at me over the phone, I'd say that's a safe bet," Anders replied, laughing softly. "She's threatening to kidnap me if I get hurt again."
"Trying to figure out how to bake cupcakes in the campfire?" Anders shrugged, then regretted it. "Not a whole lot of anything, really. Just my workshops . . . 'cept the two I missed while I was in the clinic . . ."
"Oh that has to be messy. I've been limiting my campfire cooking to s'mores. It's easier that way." She very gingerly attempted to pat his shoulder, mindful of any injuries. "Somehow I think being in the clinic after a run in with a knife wielding psycho is a good reason for missing class."
"Yeah, I sort of gave up. Don't think I can pull it off without them tasting a lot like barbecue, and nobody wants that." He wrinkled his nose, because wow was that thought kind of gross. "Yeah, well . . . at least one of my teachers was in the clinic with me, so that gives me an excuse for one class."
"Interrupted is a very mild way of saying 'my boyfriend got stabbed through the chest,'" Anders remarked dryly. "So I've had my total share of trauma for the summer now, I think."
"And me banned from strenuous activity, now." Anders chuckled, a wry grin twisting his lips. "Figures. Oh, well. Met any interesting new kids, big sis?"
"Shame my back's what got sliced open then," drawled Anders. "My new little sib and her cousin have already pretty much taken me on as a Cause to Protect, which I can't complain about, and the few new people I've met so far are pretty cool. Can't complain."
He couldn't suppress a soft sigh. "Still not the same without certain people around, but we'll manage, huh?"

The 'yet' was unspoken, but pretty clear nonetheless.
"Bel said they got this frakker, though, right?"
Re: Third Period - 5/29
"Radio said they did. And the clinic seems to have quieted down. So I think it's safe now."

"And I have. Karal and Gavin, Jaina, my little sister. Johnny's amusing. There's a bunch of nice new people."
