Freelance Treasure Hunting, Monday, Period 5, Class #3

The class had been handwavily instructed to report to the Danger Room Shop for today's class. Vala was looking especially smug as she played with the dials on the machine and munched on an apple.

"Hello," she greeted them cheerfully, "and welcome to what I'm sure will be an enlightening afternoon for you. Today we will be dealing with how to obtain your treasure or priceless artifact, once you've located it. As I'm sure you probably already know, in many instances, people who collect priceless and historically important artifacts and works of art tend to have elaborate security systems protecting these items and making it more difficult--but, and this is important, not impossible--for an enterprising individual such as one of you to obtain or liberate them."

"So, in today's class, there will be a number of scenarios programmed into the trust computer imaging system here, and your assignment will be to free it from its unfortunate incarceration. Please be aware that there will be a number of alarm systems and surprises along the way. There is also a table with tools," she gestured towards a number of burglary tools that were nicely arrayed on a table at the side of the room in Vanna White-esque fahion, "should you require them. Also, feel free to ask any questions along the way, and either my charming minion-er, assistant-or myself will answer you as soon as we can."

[ooc: Please hold for OCD. *la la la la lalalalala* *shuts off hold music* Play away!]

Marco snuck up behind Turtle. "Boo!"

Turtle went from stocks increases in one ear to a shout in the other. She jumped, flailing slightly. "Ack!" When she saw it was Marco, she gave him a shove. "You should warn people before making them look at that face; hooo, scary stuff, Marco."

"Hey!" Marco didn't shove Turtle because he had some manners. And he didn't want to get kicked. "Looked in a mirror lately?"

Turtle stuck her tongue out him. "Yes, actually. I'd recommend you do it every once in a while, but I'd hate for you to get all that bad luck from breaking 'em all."

"Speaking from experience?" Marco asked with a grin.

"Ha, no," Turtle said, and quickly reminded herself of some of the things Charlie had told her about Tannim before her brain would let her think of some of the things Annette had said. "Nice try, though."

Marco shrugged. "I wouldn't be me if I didn't. So what have you been up to for the past two weeks?"

"Working more than should be allowed by both overtime laws and child labor laws," Turtle said with a smirk. "What about you?"

"Pesky laws, who needs them anyways?" Marco said with a wave of his hand. "And I did a two week stint as a vending machine."

"Please tell me this is a metaphor for a repeatative summer job and not literal."

"I wish. In this school? It's always literal."

"Huh. So you were an actual, physical vending machine..." Turtle's gigantic sigh at that moment was for the fact the it didn't sound as strange to her as she knew it should sound. "...Did you at least manage to make a lot of money?"

Re: General Chatting

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not a penny." Marco cheerfully informed her. "I was a broken vending machine."

Turtle shook her head woefully. "You disappoint me, Marco."

"Well, hey. At last I didn't sell a kidney by accident."

Turtle considered this point carefully. "Very true," she said, a bit slowly. "Although you do have a spare."
