Library [05/24]

When Bridge had asked Sam if he could open the library for him, Sam didn't even need to think before saying yes. So, after his morning workshops, he headed to the library and took his usual spot at the computer, intent on at least trying to research who or what could be behind the recent attacks.

Sam looked over the pass, and nodded. "Promise you're not going to try to blow me or the library up?" he asked, at least half kidding.

Which would have been taken more of a joke if Setsuna still wasn't all flaily about that whole blowing up the Nest thing. Her eyes eye widened, her arms swam in the air a little, "Why in the world would I do that?" she asked, panicked.

"Whoa, I'm sorry," Sam said quickly, backing up a little. "I didn't mean that. I'm sure you'll be careful. What is it you guys are looking for?"

"Some info on the dreams i have been having." Ami piped up, hoping to give Setsuna a few moments to calm down.

Sam nodded again, coming out from behind the desk to usher them towards the Special Collections entrance. "Okay. That sounds like something that will come from a source that won't try to bite anyone. Awesome."

"Yes, well," Setsuna let out a slight breath, telling herself that if they did come across any biting books, she'd have to try to keep herself calm so she didn't use her fire and do exactly what Sam had asked them not to do. She babbled a little as they went that direction, to keep from flailing again. "Nothing we've been able to locate so far has been helping; it seems a stretch to be checking here, I have to admit, but trying is better than nothing."

"I am sure we will find somethign here" Ami aid, looking curiously over the shelves of the Special collection. It was full of books of all shapes and sizes.

Setsuna blinked at the shelves, taken a little back, because she didn't expect there to be....so much. And she kept decidedly toward the middle of the aisle, wearily looking for the bitey ones everyone always talked about. //"...where do we even start?"//

//"Well... i am not sure really. This is it seems a section on kingdoms in other realities."// Ami glanced at the titles as she walked by. //"This one talks of extra-planetary kingdoms."//

//"That...might work,"// Setsuna said, nervously. //"But I'm...weary to take anything, in all truth. There are reasons these books are located here and not in the library. If we're not careful, we could end up being sucked into a different kingdom, or the past, or something like that..."//

She'd seen that in an anime once. And Setsuna didn't feel like being sucked into a different world today, thank you.

//"Really. Hm. Well, what about this one? It talks about Pretty Sailor Solders, and looks mostly harmless."// Ami picked up a pretty blue book with a crescent moon on the cover.

Setsuna winced a little as Ami picked up the book, already seeing it trying to consume her friend's arm, but, when nothing happened, she breathed a little easier and nodded. Pretty Sailor Soldiers did sound pretty harmless, after all. She blushed a little at how jumpy she was but this was special collections. Still, she leaned in closer to Ami, holding out her hand and offering to open it in case lifting the cover did something like sending an army of these so said Pretty Sailor Soldiers at them.

Ami handed Setsuna a book. Pretty Sailor Solders sounded like it may have somethign to do with the vision she had had in Japan, of fighting in a fuku.

Which was just weird. Sure, Setsuna fought in her Mahora uniform, but it was a bit...more normal than a full on fuku. ~~Crazy anime~~.

Tentatively, Setsuna opened the book and started flipping through, glancing over the glossy pages. //"No weird things yet,"// she said, in a quiet rush of relief, holding the book over so they could both scan the pages for information.

//"Always a good thing"// Ami nodded, bending closer to look at the page. //"These look like the right sort of uniforms, but they are all weird with the giant bows and everyone has hair in funky colors~~stupid anime~~."//

Frowning, Setsuna pulled away from the book, leaning down to check the cover again without interupting Ami's perusal of the page. //"You sure this isn't just, like, one of those cosplay books?"// She sighed as she straightened again. //"Don't see why one of those would be in special collections, although, really, cosplay is pretty special."// She snorted slightly, biting her lip and trying not to think of Chisame.

...Hey, she hadn't check the Chui-chan webside in a while...

Setsuna shook her head. Back on track. //"Right uniforms for what?"// she asked, looking a little more closely.

//"I don't think it is, look they talk about the Soldiers transforming into these outfits to fight for justice."// Ami flipped the page. //"And to protect the princess. Oh, remember i told you i have a vision while meditating in that temple in Japan? Where the girl from the temple and i were fighting? These are like the outfits we were wearing. In fact, hers was like this one."// Ami pointed to the girl with long black hair and a red fuku.

//"You were wearing one of these when you were fighting in your vision?"// Setsuna asked, arching a slightly worried look at Ami, because she really didn't know how she felt about that. They were really cute, yeah, but she remembered Ami being bothered by Setsuna's own adventures in embarrassing costuming and that maid outfit had nothing on these things. High heels? High heels? At least her seven-inch getta were flat...

She shook her head. //"Is there anything on the princess, maybe?"// she offered, arching her neck in anticipation to check out a few more pages before completely regarding it all as bad anime rubbish.

//"Yeah, i told you remember?"// Ami flipped the page again. This picture had a carpet page, showing the princess and her cat. //"I think this is her. Look, she is wearing the crescent moons in her hair. She looks so sad."//

Head tilting as she inspected the picture, Setsuna would have felt more complied to chose the word 'serene.' And then another thought came to her, //"She looks lonely...Is there any more?"// She reached over to flip to the next page.

The next page showed the five Sailor Scouts standing as if in a trance around a glowing crystal. //"Hmm. I saw some of this in our meditation."// Ami glanced at the two cats a black one and a white one shown in the picture. //"I think the cats help them transform."//

"That's very bizarre," Setsuna commented, in English, although she didn't entirely realize it. "Although, I suppose if I were to have a familiar to help me with a transformation, I would chose it to have the form of a cat, I think."

"Do you think the princess also transforms?" Ami asked, also slipping into English. "My there are a lot of shiny crystals on the moon."

"Well, of course there are!" Setsuna chuckled lightly. "It must have been very prosperous." She turned another page. "And look! The Moon Castle! In the Mare Serenitatis! Ohhh, it's so beautiful!"

"Oooh, yes it is. I wish i was still there." Ami said, and smiled with the fond memory.
