"I know the professor. She taught forensics last semester. Nice lady. Have you had much experience with Goths before? Also it was brought to my attention yesterday that I should have asked this already: Where are you from?"

"Stuckeyville, Ohio. And we didn't really have a 'goth scene' around. There were some in Jaspertown, I think,"

"I wouldn't peg Ohio as a stronghold of Goth activity no. Okay this question is going to feed your concept of this place being insane but...what year is it back home?"

Billy nodded. It was 2007 here. But he wasn't sure how he should broach that subject with Warren, who clearly did not believe in any of the weird stuff.

"If I told you it was actually 2007, or that when I go home it's 1998, what would you say?"

"Better than the alternative I suppose." Billy muttered. "What's the most unbelievable thing you've seen here so far?"

"This guy, Qui-Gon? Made an apple float. And he wouldn't tell me how he did it!"

Billy was torn between bursting this guy's bubble, and trying to ease the transition. "Well, they say a good magician isn't supposed to tell."

"Magician's can be very stubborn." Billy shrugged. He wondered what it would take to convince this kid that stuff here was real.
