When the students came upon the main campfire Tuesday afternoon they would see a nervous looking man sitting on a park bench. The nervousness might be due to this being his first day teaching or it could be due to the fact that Buster had a fear of open spaces. Buster also had a fear of closed spaces so either way he'd probably be like this every morning. Some might notice he’s going to extreme measures to not actually look anybody in the face. All would definitely notice instead of a left hand he had a hook.

"Heeeeeeeeey students." said Buster, standing up from his chair. He looked at the students warily. "My name is Buster Bluth and I’ll be teaching you this workshop this summer. I hope you have as much fun learning as I will teaching!"

He let out a painfully awkward laugh that made it clear he’d much rather be someplace else. "We’ll be covering a lot of subjects during this workshop. I changed my major twenty-one times in college so I know quite a lot about this and that. But it’s still going to be fun! I know all about fun!" He didn’t.

"Really, I hope you find something you're interested in. People with few interests and goals in life either end up performing cheap magical illusions in a run-down bar or they end up living with their mother and adopted Korean brother." said Buster, looking at the students gravely. "Their alcoholic, pill popping, horny mother."

"Um. Okay. My T.A. is over there." said Buster, pointing his hook towards Warren. "He’ll be passing out the syllabuses…syllabi…is that right?"

Buster shrugged. "Anyways, I figure today we can start off with some introductions since I don’t know any of you and you all certainly don’t know me. Just tell me your name, your favorite drink and something interesting about yourself. I’ll go first! I’m Buster, I love juice and my father recently escaped from prison! But then he got arrested in Mexico. Then he faked his death and escaped again!"

"Okay! Who’s next? How about you?" he said, pointing his hook at a student. "T.A. you introduce yourself too."

Buster smiled along and added his comments to each student as they introduced themselves. When the last student went he clapped his hands together. "Ow! Ouch. That stings. Well, I think that’s about enough for today."

"It was fun meeting you all and I’ll be here if any of you have any questions about the syllabus or anything. Till then!" Buster slammed his hook into his desk out of excitement and the prosthetic limb popped off. Buster stared at the desk and then at the class in horror.

"I’M A MONSTER!!!!"

He whimpered and curled up in a ball onto the floor. He'd be there for a while.

Go ahead, gawk at the teacher. He's too scared to notice. Or talk amongst yourselves. He won't notice that either.

Annette gawked. But in a gawking omigod I think I feel sorry for my teacher! sort of way.

Sneakily did she pull out her high-end digital camera that was similiar in shape to a cigarette lighter. Hopefully she could get in a picture or two cause hello? teacher with a hook!

Shawn was also doing the staring thing. He leaned over a little towards Annette. "And to think I really believed the teachers here couldn't get any weirder," he said to her quietly.

She leaned over and said just as quietly, "I know, right?" Then she hoped he hadn't noticed her little spy tech camera.

"What do you think, Shawn? Cause I'm not sure whether or not to feel sorry for Mr. Bluth or boggle at him and wait for him to do some sort of trick thing with that hook."

"He is... kind of pityable, a little creepy," Shawn admitted, looking at Buster with a frown. "And the hook thing really only works if you've got the eyepatch and the attitude to go with it."

"Right, like the pirate deal." She looked at Mr. Bluth. "I'm not sure the eyepatch and attitude would even help him though." Annette shuddered. "He is creepy, look at the way he stares at us. What is he thinking?"

"I don't think I really want to know," Shawn said. "In fact, I know I don't want to know what he's thinking."

She nodded, wrinkling up her face. "I know...I know..." Annette said, looking back at Shawn. "Hey, you know what?"

Shawn looked at her expectantly. "What?"

She whispered, "I heard that a seal bit his hand off." She nodded, eyes wide.

Shawn's jaw dropped a little. "I didn't think seals ate people," he said.

"I know it! Can you imagine a people eating seal? Do they even make those? I thought they were cute and slippery and just played in the water for fun."

"Maybe we've been misled?" Shawn suggested. "I guess that's possible, right?"

"Possibly. We are here in Fandom." Which makes sense. "I hate to be scared of seals now. I won't want to try and get close at the zoo anymore."

"Avoiding swimming in the ocean might also be an idea," Shawn added. "As that's their natural habitat and everything."

"Dang. And I was really growing to like the ocean. Tori was going to teach me how to surf. Now I have to worry about losing a limb or something. Oh, what if it just got my toes? That would be really ugly."

"I don't think you're actually going to lose limb if you go swimming," Shawn said, he didn't want to put her off if she liked that kind of thing, after all. "He strikes me as the kind of person who would have stuff like that happen, you don't."

"I can always go swimming in the pool. I can see the bottom. I like seeing the bottom."

Annette cut her eyes back at Mr. Bluth. "He's sort of flaily like isn't he?"

"Flaily like, fits," Shawn agreed. "He's just... kind of awkward. We're probably not supposed to feel bad for him, are we?"

Andros was silently debating on how much he should tell Commander Kin-Won in his monthly report and whether or not to mention that some of the teachers were insane.

Thanks to Buster's comments Peter now had mental images of his own mother that he really could've lived without.

Dawn wasn't really quite sure what to think, but the class seemed like it would be interesting.

Not that interesting was always good...

Summer was trying very hard not to gawk. Really.

Haruhi was, of course, staring lots. She knew this place to be strange, but this was... very unusual. At the same time, she could tell the teacher was very nervous, so she kept the staring to a minimum. As much as she could, anyway.

Jim put Buster at the top of his list of Easy Targets.

He couldn't help but wonder what a prosthetic hand would look like in a Jello mold.
