Arts & Crafts, Tuesday Afternoon, Main Campfire

As the campers arrived, they would find a tall, athletic blond man in a polo shirt and khakis presiding over picnic tables covered with crafting supplies.

"Good afternoon, everyone," Steve began. "I'm Mr. Rogers--no, not that Mr. Rogers, the other Mr. Rogers--and I'll be in charge of this workshop. We're going to have a lot of fun I hope.

"So, to get started, this week we're going to make gremlins." Steve was oblivious to any horrified twitching this comment might have engendered among his students. He was really new at this. "All the necessary supplies and instruction sheets are already on the table, so...get to it. You can work together if you want to, but please remember the glue and paint are for your projects, not each other. I'll be right over here out of the line of fire if you need any help or have any questions."

Seely's carefully started folding his paper instead of screwing it up. Soon he had an origami gremlin, which he started making a skirt and pom-poms for.

Vi was watching Seely work. "Origami, huh?" she asked. "Why does it have pom-poms?"

"My grandpa taught me," Seely explained. "It's the cheer mascot."

"Gremlins sounded all scary and bitey when my big brother told me about them," Vi said. "So .. some of them like cheerleading?"

"It's actually Nadia in a suit," Seely said. "I don't recall seeing them at any of the practices."

"Nadia like on the radio?" Vi asked. She was getting it, she might even know the names of more than four people by the end of the week. "OH, um, I'm Vi. New kid. As if that wasn't written all over me."

Vi shook his hand with one that was only slightly glittery. "it's always good to meet people who can guide me through the weirdness here," she said.
