Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2007 Part I - Saturday Afternoon

The sun was shining high in the sky above the front lawn (not that this would matter to certain members of the audience since there was a nice awning and shaded pathways). A stage was set up with a podium and several seats for the administration and guests. Off to the side of the stage, a guitar for musical performances.

In front of the stage, blue and gold chairs were set for the largest graduating class in Fandom High history (not that it was a tough record to achieve), and to either side of those chairs were bleachers for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town of Fandom who wanted to wtiness this event.

It was a beautiful day for a graduation.

[OOC: Please wait for OCD. You're good to go! This post is mostly for audience mingling, general graduation stuff, and such. Look for Part II with your standard Fandom Surprise early this afternoon.

It'll be kind of hard to miss the events of the second post, so you might want to hold off an any post-graduation posts for a while to avoid being Jossed.]

John walked down the aisle, beaming smile on his face and bare legs under the robe.

What? NO. Kilt.

Angela was a little nervous as she took her place next to John.

She was also very happy to be done with high school.

"Walk kind of slow," she muttered to John. "My heels hurt."

"No problem. I'm kinda hung over," he mutters back, crooking his elbow kinda like a gentleman if she wanted to take it.

He never thought he'd actually be at a place long enough to get a diploma, much less Fandom.

Angela took his arm gratefully. ""Good night last night?" she asked.

He grins. "Oh, it was pretty good. Yours? Your feet okay?"

"They'll make it," Angela said, stepping a bit more easily. "And I had a nice night. Weird but not bad."

"Good weird or just weird-weird? You got family in town?" John matched her pace, making sure not to rush her.

"Just friends," Angela said. "It's actually pretty cool."

She gave John a look out of the corner of one eye. "Did you ever find your mom?"

"Friends is good. I've got one here, somewheres."

He took a step or two before answering. "No. And... I'm kinda fine with it. Sorta."

Angela just nodded, not wanting to pry, but she squeezed John's arm a little. "We're almost there," she said.

"I know," he said, returning the squeeze. "Don't you go off and graduate without me, Chase. Or look me up outside of Fandom."

"I'll have to keep in touch," Angela promised. At that moment, she absolutely meant it.

"You better," he said with a hint of a smirk.

Of course Rosette applauded when she spotted John. Even waved. And was thinking that he'd better be wearing that kilt and, if not?

Brava.

John was kilted. He's not Harkness, for God's sake.
