Anatomy, Period 3, 4/19

"Hey," Elliot greeted her students from a casual perch atop her desk. "Easy class today because the final is next week." She pointed to a set of posters hung around the room. "You can use those or your textbooks for review, or I'm here for questions. If it's easier for you to work in groups, that works for me."

"Seriously, if there's anything you didn't quite catch during the semester, speak up now or consider your peace held."

She remained in her seat as the students began their study session.

Work alone, chat, talk to the teacher ... all the fun stuff.

Marty raised his hand. "Could you go over the whole reproductive organ thing again?"

"You're just being mean," Elliot muttered under her breath.

"Um, sure. Which organs are you more interested in, Mr. Blank?"

Unable to help but grin at Marty's prompt, Chad was emboldened to raise his hand and add, "Now explain how that might work with two guys, 'cause, yeah. Happened these last few days."

Inquiring scientific mind want to know! And see Dr. Reid potentially flail. Because that'd be cute.

Elliot took a second to process what Chad was saying. "I know you aren't asking how things fit together," she said. "You mean the actually making-a-baby part?"

"Yeah," Chad responded. Yes, he knew it was a trick question because Teddy was an alien and probably had some weird alien thing going on, but, still. Would be interesting.

Elliot furrowed her brow. "I guess you could do it in a lab," she said. "Not it, it, but put cells from both of the guys into a hollowed egg cell and force them to divide. And then you'd have to either find a gestational surrogate crazy enough to go along with it, or one of the guys would need to take a chance on an abdominal ectopic pregnancy and C-section. Adoption's probably safer and less likely to get you a kid with three arms."

"What if you want a kid with three arms?"

"Why would you want a kid with three arms?" Elliot asked. "You'd have to alter all their clothes."

"Thought they might appreciate it when they got older," she added as an afterthought.

Henry sat in his desk and worked on recopying his notes.
It was going to take a long time.

Ray worked quietly and tried to remember all the damn body parts he'd learned about.
