Monday, April 16, Period Two

A large projection screen decorates one wall of the classroom, and there's a nice assortment of pastries, muffins, popcorn and pretzels on the table in the center of the room.

"Good morning everyone. We were scheduled to have a test today, but I felt it was hardly fair to give you a test the week before finals. So instead, we'll be watching a film that's full of the classic fairy tale elements - The Ogre and the Ass ~~and it always said that omg~~. You'll probably recognize some of them from the stories we've read, although you'll find they've been turned a bit on their side. Please remember that next week you'll be making your project presentations, so I'll be available in my office tomorrow, or after class today, for any questions."

Ana looked where Daddy was waving and smiled delightedly. "Hi Miss Lana!" she whispered.

Tommy was too engrossed in the movie to pay much attention.

"I see you got yourself a spin-off too eh?" Billy grinned.

Lana nodded happily. "Isn't she beautiful?"

"She is." Billy grinned. "What's her name?"

"Margaret Grace. Maggie," Lana said with a smile. "You end up with any?"

Billy pointed to Tommy and Ana. "Tommy Arashikage, and Anastasia Shana." he smiled proudly.

"Hi Miss Lana you're really young!" Tommy waved cheerily at her.

Lana laughed. "I guess I am," she said with a smile.

Ana wanted to watch the movie, but she always like talking to Miss Lana. "Hi Maggie." she whispered.

Maggie waved absent-mindedly, but was far too engrossed in the movie to pay much attention. Her thumb went in her mouth and she snuggled up closer to her mommy.

Ana had never quite understood the whole thumb sucking thing. Except that grown ups seemed to think it was cute.

"I know it's weird," she whispered to Lana. "But Tommy and I know you."

"Well, I must be a very lucky person, then," Lana said with a smile. "I'm just sorry I don't remember you yet."

"I'm glad to see I managed to keep in touch with people here." Billy said.

Lana smiled. "Good to know friendships go on past this place."

It also seemed that Billy was destined to renew some past aquaintences that he'd thought he was determined to lay to rest.

"So how's Jim reacting?"

"He didn't quite know what to do with her at first. But now he just adores her. I love to watch them together."

Billy grinned. "I wonder how my kids' mom would react to them?"

Lana smiled. "I guess the only way to find out is to have her meet them."

"Might take some time but it could probably be arranged." he said.

"All depends on how much you want them to meet," Lana replied.

"That's it exactly actually." he said. "She's part of that whole past of mine I tried to leave behind."
