Library, Monday [4-9]

Yomiko opened up the library as usual, carrying a box of pastries from Jeff, God of Biscuits' for the library aides or any news squirrels who might happen by.

Yomiko sipped her coffee and attempted to get awake enough to deal with library business.

Yomiko set forth, with all proper protections, into Special Collections to do some cataloguing.

In Special Collections, Ms. Readman found a book that seemed not to have the proper warning signs on it. Well, she could fix that.

In her files on Special Collections, Ms. Readman found a folder labeled 'warning system' with lots of color-coded stickers and a sheet of paper with the following printed on it:

Black: for so many reasons
Red: may cause grievous bodily harm/death to reader
Blue: may cause minor bodily harm to reader
Brown: may transform reader into animal
Green: may transform reader into plant
Grey: may transform reader into mineral
Orange: may transform reader into something else
Purple: may cause undue psychological/emotional distress to reader
Pink: may temporarily alter reader’s sexuality
Yellow: may act as a dimensional portal

The list was initialed 'SZ H-S'

"Well, that's very helpful," Yomiko muttered. After due consideration, she slapped two large rectangular stickers, orange and purple, across the spine and covers of the book, forming an 'x'.

And now it was time for lunch. Ms. Readman took hers in her office. Library aides were also free to eat in the library. Everyone else? Not so much, so they shouldn't be there.

Ms. Readman returned the now-labeled book to Special Collections and posted a copy of the warning system on the wall next to the door to said Collections.

Now, Ms. Readman turned to library business, such as ordering new books. It was never too early to pre-order the last Barry Plodder book, after all.

Ms. Readman tidied up the library and collected any uneaten pastries before the end of the day. As you do.

So we don't all fall off the post!

God, do you remember when I wrote that thing? It seems like ages ago, and somehow I don't think it ever got posted until now.

*nod nod nod* I think it was after the whole ZeroKitty! thing, and then you started getting creative, and it just kinda mushrooooomed. It should go on the website, along with an explanation about Special Collections, maybe.

*misses the Library, stops by for old times' sake*

A tumbleweed rolled in and observed the stickers. They were very shiny.
