School Assembly, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

Before the assembly, The Tick used the same mysterious process that chooses students for the detention lottery for another purpose.

He had written a play. Destiny told him that all the world was a stage and he was but a player, meaning that he was playing the part of someone that got people to play parts that he created. It was very meta.

Anyway, the curtains opened to start the assembly. It was time for The Tick's first play: A Time for Bagpipes.

[OOC: Cast, please handwave getting roped into this as a result of the announcements this morning. It may be a good idea to look at the plottery post to see what I told different people just so you can be better prepared.

Again, I'm very sorry about the last minuteness and the general WTFery of this. Feel free to go nuts, though. This is a play by The Tick that you had at best a couple hours to look over. Things need not make sense have fun. And thank you for volunteering and attempting to make this work!

Oh, and people in the later acts, don't feel obliged to wait for people in earlier acts. Jump in whenever.]

"And I need to have the sherrif lock you up for skinning a monkey, hawt or not! Shit. I can fix it?

"I didn't skin no monkey! If I wanted to skin a monkey, monkeymanthing, then you would know what skinning a monkey really was." She waved her banana. "I've got skilllzzz! Don't be forgetting it."

Annette looked down at her torn gown and his torn costume and shrugged it off. If she was going to be bad, might as well be bad all the way.

"But--" He couldn't tell if she was acting or really mad at him... and he didn't want to make her MORE mad at him... so he neglected to tell her that the ancient petticoat she had on under the dress was older than his monkey suit and started to fall off. Or did she not button those buttons on purpose?

Annette had her lips pursed at him and waving that banana cause she so knew Serendipity would be angry as all crap. She didn't notice that her petticoats fell and pooled at her feet. But never fear! She had on gleaming white frilly knickers.

"But what monkeyboxerwearingman!?"

"But nothing, Banana Wielding Serendipity! For I am afraid of permanent physical harm should you approach me more and whap me with your banana!"

He walked downstage in front of her, trying to shield her from the audience, what with him theoretically wearing more clothes than her white frilly knickers and bodice undershirt.

"Hah! Snotty Evil Monkey Man! I shall call you what you are! You are a chicken monkey! A coward of the first order! No wonder the sheriff hasn't gotten you yet! Bawk! Bawk!" Annette walked downstage after him, moving to stand in front of him, turning to weild her huge banana weapon. "I shall hold you captive until said sheriff gets here to take you away you snotty coward!"

John nearly facepalmed. Angry Annette was... cutely scary? "You'll never catch me!" he shouted, sprinting towards the offstage area, leaping over the pile of costumes on the stage like a graceful gazelle.

It didn't work. He failed to stick the dismount and landed on his former legs, sliding.

"Ow."

Annette blinked. She stood still watching John with a mixture of amusement and awe. The leaping would have been pretty cool but the landing squelched that almost immediately.

"Hey! Monkey dude!" She called out, walking slowly over to John. "You uh, okay and everything?" Cause she was going to sit on him if he attempted to move.

John flailed a bit. "Ow. That was completely planned. Ow. Just ask my stunt coordinator." He didn't know about Annette planning on sitting on him, but he was figuring that the less time he ~~sat~~ lay there, the less time Annette was walking around in her skivvies. He's trying not to look as he tries to get up.

"Monkeys do not have stunt coordinators, monkeything." She looked over at the audience and grinned, then she looked back at the monkeyman that was trying to get up and possibly run for his very life.

Annette deftly lifted her foot, planting it smack down on his chest, pressing firmly. She did not, however, press her heel in. She didn't actually want to hurt him or anything.

And leaning over, she said as she poked his chin with the tip of the rubber banana, "You are going no where."

JOhn facepalmed in order to NOT stare at Annette, who's looming over him like a sexy loomy thing. "Okay, ya got me. You can go get the law after me for ruining your date with Diego. Or Javier. Or whatever."

"Diego," she said proudly then sneezed. "Ooh, this stupid monkeypox!" Raising up, she kept her foot on his chest, and looked around.

"Where is the sheriff anyhow? He should be hunting you like the hunting thing you are and why are you covering your eyes? Stop it. If you are covering your eyes then I can't see where you are looking and take note of any willy thoughts you might be having."

John opens his eyes, and tries his best not to look at Annette. If she doesn't notice, then who's to say he's gonna notice?

Oh. Right. That.

She leans over again and whispers, "What? Do I have lipstick on my teeth or something?"

"I'll tell you later. Just... get me offstage. Or get yourself offstage."

She frowned and whispered even softer-er, "That's kind of diry sounding, especially coming from a monkey. You know I once saw that at the zoo? I was like, okhmigod mom, what's he doing?"

John facepalmed. Violently brought his hands up to his face, covering his eyes. "Very dirty."

"Well, I was kind of like ew, but whatever floats your boat, you know?" She raised back up and grinned over at the audience then looked back down at the monkeyman.

"What a puny monkey you are and here I am just a fair maiden with monkeypox. And I still rule!"

John groaned. Apparently, a Victory Stance involves heel being dug in. He winced. "Ow. Heel."

"Ohh! Geeze. Right. Sorry." Annette moved her foot immediately. "But don't you go nowhere!"

"Only if you leave to get justice for giving you the monkeypox." Still facepalming.

"I can't leave. I am supposed to be waiting for my true love." She thinks.

"Well, crap. Maybe he's not supposed to see you yet cuz it's a whole Romeo and Juliet type thing?" He starts to get up.

Annette gasps, "You can't leave! Monkeyman!"

"You can't stay! You'll get more monkeypoxeded!"
