Before the assembly, The Tick used the same mysterious process that chooses students for the detention lottery for another purpose.

He had written a play. Destiny told him that all the world was a stage and he was but a player, meaning that he was playing the part of someone that got people to play parts that he created. It was very meta.

Anyway, the curtains opened to start the assembly. It was time for The Tick's first play: A Time for Bagpipes.

[OOC: Cast, please handwave getting roped into this as a result of the announcements this morning. It may be a good idea to look at the plottery post to see what I told different people just so you can be better prepared.

Again, I'm very sorry about the last minuteness and the general WTFery of this. Feel free to go nuts, though. This is a play by The Tick that you had at best a couple hours to look over. Things need not make sense have fun. And thank you for volunteering and attempting to make this work!

"Dude. No way." He sneezed. "Totally not."

Annette backed up. "Get that under control will you? I'll totally freak out if you snot all over me, John."

"Sorry! This thing's dusty!"

"You should have knocked it around a good bit before trying to put it on. Look at me," she paraded her sapphire velvet gown for him. "Knocked it off a good bit and see? You don't hear me sneezing do you?"

John ogled. "Wow. That's pretty. You gonna steal that after the show?"

"It is pretty isn't it?" She looked down at herself. The bodice was tight and made everything push upwards. Hrrm. She looked back at John. "No. No stealing for me. That would be a...sin." Pause. "Are you ogling me, John?"

"Nope. Not ogling. Just chekcing out the costume," he said, ogling Annette in the costume. He grinned. Such a cheeky monkey!

She returned his grin because hello? Her gown was so nice! "Hair up? Hair down?" ~~just wanted to use this icon.hee~~

"Ooh, hair up. Very nice. You have a good neck."

She grinned and let her hair down and started searching for something to pin it up with. "Thanks John. Your costume is kind of cute too. Kind of. In a weird mammal sort of geeky way."

John handed her some hairpins. "Thanks! It's good to know I'm an attactive primate." He does not preen. Really.

Cackling, she took the hairpins and pinned up her hair without looking in a mirror. She was good like that. "Just don't do that dance on stage, whatever you do."

"Don't tempt me. I just might."

Annette blinked and grinned and totally didn't say, "I dare you, John."

He just grinned. He might.

She grinned back and said, "See you got all the peeps out of your hair. Nice."

"Oh, yeah, no thanks to you. I see you got yours out. Nice."

"Of course I did. But then I had a little help." She gave him a cheeky smile.

"Oh? Dooo tell," he said, innocently.

"Hah, I do not tell secrets, John." She blinked innocently.

"Aw, that's no fun. Didja have help?"

She leaned towards him, whispering, "Do you really want to know?"

"Actually," he whispered back, "I kinda do. In case you decide to bring a friend for the next time you use John's Spa," he grinned.

"Shhh!" She quickly said, looking around. "No one knows I used it!"

"Why not? If I'm to make money off it, I need people to know about it!" he smirked, whisperingly. Or whispered, smirkingly. "Just tell me mine's better, and I'll be happy. Don't need the competition."
