Sprawled in his throne, Ares looked at the class. "The Flying Spaghetti Monster," he intoned solemnly. "Have you been touched by His Noodly Appendage?"

"You find noodley appendages dirty?" she asked, before shaking her head. "Forget it, it is."

"So what's been up in your world?" Mentally she ran through the list she'd made based on the radio. She didn't recall hearing Anders' name mentioned with Lana, Phoebe's or Marie's.

"Oh, nothing." His casual tone might have sounded a bit forced, though. "Just . . . spending a lot of time in my room lately, is all."

He wasn't going to hedge any bets on whether or not Bel would kill him.

"Alone?" Isabel asked, getting a bad feeling. "Because it's not good to hibernate too much." Nevermind that she's been doing plenty of it herself.

"Yeah, Bridge hasn't been having a good time of it lately. But hopefully we're going to fix that." Isabel shook her head, "Apparently Lana got hold of a book in Special Collections and got possessed or something and has managed to infect Marie and Phoebe as well. They've been tossing spells at people and messing with their heads all week."

Anders snorted. "Oh, come on. Not another possession. You seriously don't expect me to believe that, do you?" He was willfully discounting this as even a remote possibility. This soon after Bridge, there was just no way he was going to entertain the thought of it happening again.

"I know. It sounds ridiculous but..." her voice trailed off and she sighed. "Apparently Fandom 's having a run on possessions. So if you see them, be careful okay?" Isabel wasn't going to argue, she'd just turn up with ice cream after the fact if needed.

"Yeah." The way Anders shrugged, it was obvious he wasn't about to take her seriously, and he added a veneer of cockiness to his response. "I'll be careful."

Given the cockiness, Isabel figured she was allowed at least one I told you so when the time came. Because given the way the girls were whammying their through the school, it was only a matter of time before one of them ran into Anders.

"I'm cooking dinner tonight up in the common room. Chili if you're interested." And this way I can keep you out of trouble.

Anders shrugged. "Was thinking of going out tonight, but that sounds good. Maybe I'll drop in afterward."
