El nodded to the class as they entered. “As per usual, today we will be working on playing. You have two options today, depending on whether you write music or not. If you write music, I want you to sit down and start writing a song to perform for your final. If you do not, I want you sit down and start thinking about a song to perform for your final.

Either way, I want you to tell me before you leave what song you’ll be doing or be able to hum at least the chorus for me. I want to discuss your choice with you. Don’t just pick a song because it’s easy, because I will grill you on your choice.”

Well, that was helpful. Chad grunted a little, and considered that, yeah, he liked his own stuff and would maybe hope his creativity in the matter would count for something. He went back to concentrating on his mingling of bass lines and Spanish-style guitar.
