Forensic Science - March 28th 5th period

The classroom was dark when the students entered and Abby was standing by the rack of laptops she had handed out last week.

"We're going to be using these today to solve our crime." Abby said, loading a program on one and explaining how to do handwriting analysis. "Also, you're going to be looking for matching injuries in crime databases. When you're not sure what happened at a scene or you want to check and see if this fits the profile of different crimes, you can enter the information and look for a match."

"Today's crime scene is very cool. It's our first hanging!" Pulling the door open to the crime scene, Abby grinned excitedly and ushered the students into the room where Bel lay on the ground. "Police found our dead guy this morning swinging from the rafters. They cut him down but they aren't sure if he's a suicide or the victim of a homicide. It's up to you guys to decide what happened."

Bel is lying on his back, a rope still around his neck.

[Bel is not really dead, so normal playing rules apply. Please don't do anything to the character without checking with the mun first.]

For computer playing, photo checking, other...stuffing.

Ami Mizuno

Ami took detailed notes.

hmm... Ami looked around, a bit preoccupied with her own thoughts.

Bel was trying to prove he was a good and helpful student. You know, to make up for the whole Source thing. And, well, he had experience with being dead.

Ami looked at the guy who looked just like Dr. Troy. And looked around for clues.

Cassie Lang

Mac crouched down beside Bel, he did 'dead' surprisingly realistically, and she resisted the urge to poke him with her pencil to check.

She went in the end, for a fairly generic, "Hi." Before diving in with, "Time of death?"

Bel continued to lie there. Dead and all.

Cassie eyed Bel.

"So... rectal temperature?" she said.

"10:59 PM," Bel answered helpfully.

Ami looked around for a note.

"Um... what time did you die? And do you have any injuries? Can cause of death be determined? Was it the hanging?"

Bel's eyes snapped open and he edged away from Cassie, despite being dead. "You're not sticking anything there!" he said.

"10:59 PM," Bel answered dutifully. "Cause of death was suffocation, and I've got broken fingers and bloody fingernails, scatches on my neck, and a bump on the back of my head."

There was a note that said "Goodbye cruel world" nearby, but the handwriting was kinda girly.

This is the part Mac likes. Any class where she gets to play with a laptop, is all good with her. So she set about scanning a note she'd found at the crime scene in to the program.

Mac checked out the room for a minute, before honing in on a stack of papers on the table and starting to flick through them.

"Couldn't just have held out for one more minute, made it a round number?" Mac asked, as she jotted it down.

"Thank you. Lets see if we can avenge your death."

Ami took the note for analysis.
