After her adventures with Door the day before, Dawn decided it might not be a bad idea to do some research and see if there was anything else she needed to know about herself and mystical portals.
Dawn was still looking through indeces for anything relevant, and smiled when she spotted Sam being sneaky out of the corner of her eye. "It would probably be easier if you were shorter," she teased.
Sam grumbled, but continued acting sneaky, before running up and wrapping his arms around Dawn's waist from behind. "Maybe. But I like being taller more," he said, smirking. "What are you looking up?"
Dawn leaned back into Sam, happy that she could do that again. "Portals and keys. Door and I had some weirdness yesterday and I wanted to find out about it."
"No, I mean," she lowered her voice, "that Door grabbed my hand to make a door and escape, and instead of ending up in the Second Floor Common Room, we ended up in the Perk. She tapped into...what I am, Sam. Or was."
"I don't think so," she shook her head, pushing her hair out of the way when it got stuck to her lip gloss. "We touched when she wasn't trying to make a door and we didn't end up anywhere else."
"That's really weird. Did she know about...you know, what you used to be?" Sam asked. He didn't want to think about anyone abusing Dawn's power if she couldn't stop them.
"No, she had no idea. And I didn't either, since I thought it was just a blood and ritual thing. Therefore, research." She supposed she'd have to talk to a Giles about this at some point, but the one here had much bigger concerns right now.
