Ares was fiddling with the controls of the dangershop as the class trooped in.

"Monotheism," he said, finally. "Clearly one of the worst ideas ever. Spawned by egotistic, cowardly gods who can't take a little competition when it comes to getting worshippers."

In case the class couldn't tell this was something of a sore spot for him. "And that's pretty much all I have to say on the matter."

"However," he said, touching a control and causing a vast ~~CGI-ed~~ structure to appear. "Since I'm under contract to deliver a lesson more than one paragraph long, today you're going to be recreating a battle between minions of one of these One Gods as set down in the mindless blatherings of that blonde ~~which I only read to see what she wrote about me~~."

"Half of you are going to be demons, the other half angels," he said, and waved a hand. "You can pick which side you want to be on, and I've configured the dangershop so that once you've put on the provided costumes, the wings won't just be decorative. You'll be able to fly ~~like you're doing wirework~~ and hopefully fight while flying as well."

"Well he is a god," he said, and he might have sounded a little bit excited. He liked flying and he was hoping one of those costumes came with pants instead of a skirt.

"He's not a god," Sam insisted, looking up to scowl at both him and Cameron. "He's just a good actor."

"As long as he's not trying to put anything inside anyone's head and he's not forcing someone to worship him, I don't mind all that much. I mean, we've got Jeff and he deserves that title," Cameron replied, either he missed the scowling or he was ignoring it. "And if those things can really fly..."

"You're such a flight geek, Mitchell," she teased.

"There's worse things to be a geek about," he decided.

"You're talking about me now, aren't you? So I like particle reactors..."

He grinned. "I didn't say that, you just assumed that I was. I was more thinking about those guys who geek out over bottle caps."

"Oh, okay," she relaxed slightly, "I don't get that either. And has your good news sunk in yet?"

"Sort of? I've been a bit distracted," he confessed.

"Is everything okay?"

"I'm not sure," he said honestly. "Something weird was going on with John and apparently they went to get things sorted out, but I haven't heard anything yet."

Sam blinked and turned to look closely at Cameron, squinting at the shadow she saw. "Something weird that led to him hitting you in the eye? And who's they?"

"Aeryn and Molly," he replied. He didn't really answer Sam's question but he wasn't good at poker faces either. "So I'm sure it will be fine."

"Cameron?" Wow, his poker face was worse than hers. "What happened?"

"I'm not sure. He just wasn't himself and when I tried to get him back to the dorms, he knocked me out," Cameron replied. "Apparently Aeryn and Molly caught up with him and they took him somewhere where he could get help. I don't know anything more."

"Knocked you out? Are you alright now?"

Cameron nodded. "I'm fine. I know the drill by now," he added lightly.
