The students met in the classroom today thanks to ~~handwavy~~ notification by E-mail. "Sorry about that," Captain Liberty greets them. "Couldn't get the stupid simulation to work. So that'll be next week, and on the plus side, at least you don't have to wear your costumes, right?" It might be clear she's a little bit frustrating about the stupid simulation.

"Every villain has a plan. Usually they're diabolical, or at least they're called diabolical while the superhero's standing there going 'Seriously?' You get used to it," she assures them. "These plans are most likely things like trying to throw down some wrath on a city by using some sort of machine created by some scientist with too much time on his hands, or trying to carve your name into the moon. They don't always make sense, which is why you have to slap the bad guy's hand and say "NO", because people should not suffer from their overblown stupidity.

"Today you're going to pair up again, and each of you will come up with some sort of diabolical plan. Be as creative as possible- the real bad guys will be. The other person will try to find holes in your plan and figure out how to foil you. Then you get to switch off. You know the drill by now."

And while they're working, she'll spend her time stewing about technology.

Jude sat there and steepled his fingers evilly.

Hey, it was a start. He was waaaaay too happy to be diabolical.

Teddy sat down across from Jude. It was only slightly less awkward than getting paired up with Cassie.

Slightly.

Jude ceased his steepling to salute. "Yo."

Teddy waved back. "So, what's your evil plan to take over the world?"

Oh crap.

"Uh . . ."

"Skateboarding henchmen?" Teddy suggested. He had experience with stupid villains.

"Yes," Jude agreed, then added thoughtfully, "A real evil plan would be to make everyone sleep alone."

Teddy? Really had no clue how to respond to that other than a dignified, "Buh?"

Jude went pink about the ears. "Sorry, nevermind."

Now Teddy was even more confused. "Okay," He said slowly.

Jude thought quickly. "Skateboarding henchmen, uh, destablise, uh, the city by, um . . . stealing stuff really quickly?"

Smooth Jude, smooth.

"Not very diabolical," Teddy said.

"I'm not very good at being evil," Jude apologised sheepishly.

Teddy thought back to all of the meglomaniacal super villains that he knew of.

"You could hold people hostage or declare war on the surface dwellers."

Miley was talking with her partner when Cassie told her that Teddy had called her a traitor. She marched over to him and glared at Teddy, hands on her hips.

"Where do you get off calling Cassie a traitor? That's just really mean and you should be ashamed of yourself. She's having a really hard time."

Teddy froze, slowly turning away from Jude to face Miley. "Excuse me, how is this any of your business?"

"It's my business because..." Miley didn't have an answer so she just glared harder. "Never mind how it's my business. You should just be nicer to Cassie! She's not having a good week."

Teddy's hands clenched into fists as he met Miley's eyes with a glare of his own. "You have no clue what you're talking about."

"Not really, but why don't you let me know a good reason for calling someone a traitor." Miley said, her foot tapping angrily as she looked up at Teddy. "Especially someone who recently had a death of someone close to them."

[and now I have to head home. Pick up in a couple of hours?]

Teddy stood up suddenly, taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm down before speaking again. "Because she turned her back on her friends when they needed her, that's why she's a traitor," He hissed.

[[no problem!]]

"Whoa." Miley said as Teddy stood. "Maybe she was grieving for the assassinated person. Did you think about that?"

"Captain America? She should join the club. Everyone is grieving over that."

"So your form of grieving involves calling people names?" Miley asked. "And Cassie said this guy was a friend of the family."

"My issues with Cassie started before he died," Teddy told her, trying to stay calm. "And I haven't said a word to her since letting her know about his death."

"Maybe you should try and be nice to her. She's really hurting." Miley said. "Ever think of laying off or, I don't know, try being nice to her?"
