Rory walked into the lbrary bright and early, with a slight bounce in her step in spite of having only just woken up. At least she had actually slept. It was an improvement.

[IT ALWAYS SAID SPITE.]

Rory was sipping her coffee when they first made their entrance.

Several weetiny penguins waddled over under her desk and waved frantically - you know, for penguins - up at her.

She didn't notice them yet.

She noticed them in second period, though, when one tripped over her foot.

By third period, Rory had joined them on the floor and was watching curiously as they acted out a wee tableau of some sort.

One of them was standing by her coffee cup as though it was a pot and pretending to stir, and the others were fleeing.

Rory had no idea what it meant. She suspected that she may be imagining it, actually.

By fourth period, they had decided to play some other sort of tiny penguin game that she didn't understand, but was happy to watch.

She had Cheerios and grapes and Twinkies, and tried to share. They elected to wear the Cheerios on their heads until they fell off, and four of them shared a grape.

By fifth period, the penguins were mostly retreating, except for one which was electing to follow Rory around as she did her library work.

Rory listened to the wee penguin noises and what may have been a wee story or an airing of grievances as she shelved books.

And as she closed the library, she took the wee chatty penguin with her.

*runs around spastically* weetiny penguins! me being around all day! IT'S A GOOD DAY.
