At some point, Yomiko paused in mopping out her basement and restoring her books to their rightful homes and remembered that, oh yeah, she had a job to do.

A cup of coffee and change of clothes later, she was dashing up to the school to open up the library.

Angela wanted to put in some time, so she came down to the library. "Is there anything you need help with?" she asked Ms. Readman as she took her place behind the counter.

Ms. Readman gestured to a trolley full of books and said, "Well, those need to be shelved, I think. How are you, Angela?"

"I'll take care of them," Angela said, and started sorting the books into fiction and nonfiction. "I'm good. Excited -- I'm going on the trip to New York tomorrow. How are you?"

"New York, hmm?" Yomiko asked distractedly as she peered into the A/V cabinet. "Watch out for flesh-eating viruses in used books." She shook herself. "I mean. Um. Pretend you didn't hear that?"

Angela looked morbidly fascinated. "In used books?" she asked. "I didn't hear that, okay. But ... seriously? I'll be paranoid about paper cuts now."
