Ethics [Monday, March 11, 5th period]

Anakin was leaning against the desk as the Ethics class walked in. A crumpled version the syllabus was in his hand.

"I hope you all stayed dry this weekend and kept your fish throwing to a minimum," he said. "The syllabus says that we're supposed to begin a discussion of the seven deadly sins today, but I want to get to know you a little bit first."

He was supposed to be a new instructor, after all.

"What manner of action do you find unforgivable?" he asked, his voice and manner completely unreadable. "Treason against your country or homeworld? Stealing from the defenseless? Slavery? Murder? Let's not worry about extenuating circumstances for the moment. If I were to tell you I killed children, most of you would recoil, correct? Where do you draw that line in your head? How far does someone have to go before you say 'that's wrong and there's no getting past it'?"

He avoided John's eyes as he paced around the room, finally pointing at a student. "Go ahead."

"Hey, losing your virginity is a very big milestone," Dean told him. "It's one of those becoming a man transitions. I missed you becoming a teenager, figure I need to hit all the other ones."

Sam couldn't help but smile at that. "I guess it would be a major milestone," he admitted. "And if you want to roadtrip, I'm certainly not going to say no."

"Well there we go then. Plans are made. You just need to tell me when."

"If you embarrass me when I tell you, I will never forgive you," Sam warned.

"I'm hurt. Really. Would I do that?"

"Maybe. I wouldn't put it past you to take the opportunity to tease me if it presented itself."

"Teasing and embarrassing are not the same thing," Dean pointed out logically.

"I guess not," Sam replied. "I'll just have to make sure I tell you in a private place."

"No squirrels! None at all!" Sam agreed quickly.

"So do you want to go see Zoe together tomorrow?" Dean asked, getting back to the original topic.

"Sure," Sam said, just as happy for the topic change. "I think it'll be nice to have her included in things."
