School Assembly, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

Josh grinned as he walked out onto the stage. The curtain had been drawn to hide the contents behind and the stage was apparently infinitely malleable to make this work, omg.

"Given yesterday's events, today's assembly seems even more appropriate. We're going to do an old-fashioned battle of the sexes. Pulled completely at random, three guys and three girls will be dragged up here, if necessary, in order to compete for valuable cash and prizes." He paused. "Which we don't have, so the thrill of beating the other team will just have to do."

He waved his hand dramatically and the curtain drew back to reveal an obstacle course. "This contest will test your mind, your body, and your immunity to public humiliation. So, without any further ado, I give you: THE GUYS! Billy, Sam, and Peter Petrelli!" Josh frowned down at his paper. "Who also goes by Steve? I don't get it." He shrugged as he waited for the boys to get up on stage, then flipped to his next card. "And now for the LADIES! I give you Molly, Naomi, and Annette!"

Josh grinned again. "There's a Mickey Mouse Club joke in there, but I think it will date me. Without further ado, let's get on with the show!"

It occurred to Molly though. When Sam came even with her, she stepped wide into his path, trying to step on his flipper and trip him.

The funny thing about flippers is that one doesn't usually notice that they are being stepped on until they are already tripping. It was almost helpful that Sam had the pudding to break his fall. Almost.

And the funny thing about pudding is that it doesn't really give one a lot of traction. As Molly tried to get out of the way of the falling Sam, she slipped.

"Whoops!" Landing on a knee, she caught herself with her hands, but was able to get to her feet again fairly quickly.
likethegun: (i'm looking up at you)

A lot of Sam's grumbling was lost to the pudding pile before he started to get up again. Wiping at his face, he saw that if he reached out just far enough, he might be able to grab Molly's ankle, and lunged towards her.

Molly had just started to move forward again when Sam's hand grabbed her ankle. Result? Molly went face first into the pudding with a quiet, "Oh, frell!"

Sam laughed and resisted the urge to start throwing pudding, focusing instead on getting back to his feet and taking off hopping again.

Sam would have to get by Molly first.

As soon as Sam got close enough, Molly reached out and wrapped herself around his legs, intent on bringing him down again.

Sam let out a yelp as he came crashing down again, and this time, he did fling pudding back towards Molly.

Molly scrambled onto her hands and knees and so took the pudding in the face. "Eep!"

Shaking her head and sputtering, she crawled forward and flung a handful of pudding at Sam just hoping her aim was good.

And thus, there was pudding all in Sam's hair. "Hey!" he said, flailing and trying to push the pudding towards Molly to make it harder for her to get up.

Molly had just decided to crawl to the finish line. Professor Lyman had never said anything about them having to be upright. With a squeak, she flung more pudding at Sam and started crawling.

That shot got him in the eye, and Sam had to squint a little to see what Molly was doing. He gathered up more pudding and threw it at her again before deciding to follow Molly on the crawling idea.

Molly just put her head down and crawled. Then she got an idea and started slapping her flippers in the pudding as she moved. Hopefully, it would impede Sam a bit more.

Sam sputtered as more pudding flew his way. He tried to keep crawling, but it wasn't going very well at all.

Molly finally got the hang on moving through the pudding and crawled faster. As she neared the finish line, she gave one quick glance back before lunging over the line and rolling out of the pudding.
likethegun: (i'm fully faceplanted)

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[personal profile] likethegun 2007-03-10 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
As soon as Sam saw that Molly had crossed the finish line, he stopped crawling and just faceplanted into the pudding where he was.

"You still need to finish, Sam" Molly called and flung more pudding at him.

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[personal profile] likethegun 2007-03-10 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I do not," Sam replied, although it was a bit muffled by the pudding.

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-03-10 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Molly threw more pudding at him. "Come on, Sam! Don't quit now. You're almost there!"
likethegun: (i'm sticking my tongue out)

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[personal profile] likethegun 2007-03-10 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Sam pushed himself up with a sigh and started crawling towards the line again. When he finally made it over, he took one last scoop of pudding and threw it at Molly, and stuck his tongue out at her.

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-03-10 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Molly eep-ed and tried to block it with her hands. Laughing, she stuck her tongue out back at Sam. Then she licked her lips. "Yummy pudding," she said.
likethegun: (i'm smiling to the left)

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[personal profile] likethegun 2007-03-10 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
"You have very good aim," Sam told her, shaking his head to try to get the pudding out of his hair.

Re: Task Two: Sam v. Molly

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-03-10 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
"I was going for a scatter shot effect," Molly admitted. "Better odds of hitting you." She started wiping the pudding off of her face.
