Elliot came into class scowling and with very drenched hair. She was carrying a muddy plastic bag with something moving inside of it, and if some of her students looked a little different, it took her most of her lecture to notice it. "So today, we are going to talk about -- first off, why will it not stop raining? And why is it that I can't manage to get a simple order for lab earthworms through the mail? I swear, these conditions ..." she trailed off. "Anyhow, I am supposed to introduce you to the nervous system, which is my personal second-favorite."

She threw up a slide. "The nervous system coordinates the activity of the muscles, watches the organs, constructs and halts input from the senses, and initiates actions. Major parts of the nervous system are the brain, the spinal cord, and the nerves throughout the body. Prominent participants in a nervous system include neurons and nerves, which play roles in such coordination. All kinds of parts of nervous system are made of nervous tissue. There are four kinds of nerves - motor, sensory, afferent nerves and interneurons. And you can divide the nervous system into the somatic nervous system, which is under conscious control, and the autonomic nervous system, which is not."

She ran a hand through her wet hair and continued her lecture before reaching into the wriggly bag. "Your experiment today might seem a little juvenile, but I swear it's fun. Basically you're going to figure out which end of the earthworm is smarter by testing its sensitivity to sound, touch, and smell. Pair up, grab a bottle of rubbing alcohol, and I'll be around with the worms."

Listen to the lecture, chat, or pass notes.

Ray doodled some notes but stopped when he lost his train of thoughts and started thinking about fish.

Peter wasn't taking notes as much as he was ~~emoing~~ lost in his thoughts. He did his best to try to keep to himself. No telling what would happen if he accidentally touched someone.

Henry took notes, but without his usual fervor. He seemed to be having a lot of trouble concentrating.

Chad tried to listen to the lecture and take notes, but he was way too fascinated at how his breasts rested on the desk whenever he tried to lean over.

Neil was trying to listen to the lecture but his head was still back, boggling about the change in his roommate.

He looked more than a little distracted.

Pair up and cut up a worm. Yay.

Neil was seriously fighting the urge to pick up the worm and spin it in the air like a bullwhip.

"Need a partner?" A Chad who didn't look at all like a Chad except that he was tall and of some Middle American decent noticed that Neil looked like he was without someone to work with.

Neil paused in his poking of the worm, to look at the tall girl and his expression became a little skeptical.

"Are you in this class?"

"Uhh...yeah..." It hadn't really occured to Chad that he might not be as recognizable as usual.

....

After his morning experience with Conner, you'd think he'd have known better than to ask.

"Uh...okay then. Let's share a worm."

Chad grunted a little (which came out as more of a hum) and nodded, and looked over the worm again before checking his notes to remember what exactly they were doing.

Ray didn't mind this. He grabbed a worm and took a seat.

Henry looked around for a partner. He wasn't feeling any better, so he hoped his partner would have steadier hands than his currently shaky ones.

Peter glanced over at Henry. "You okay?"

Henry nodded. "Just a little under the weather."
That was true. If the weather was a hurricane, perhaps.

"This may sound weird," Peter said, "but you didn't start feeling sick when you got near me, did you?"

Henry shook his head, then regretted it almost instantly. It hurt.
"Ehh, no. Why, do you have a cold?"

"My powers have been acting weird on me," Peter said. "Thought I'd make sure I wasn't affecting you."

It seemed to make sense. Henry normally would have gone inquisitive and asked about Peter's powers, but he just didn't feel up to it.
"Well, I'll let you know if I notice anything odd."

Poor worm. Kabuto was enjoying himself by cutting it in places and watching it squirm.

All done!

Um ... except that I lost track of the date in my comment headings.
