Rory hadn't slept the night before, so getting to the library on time was no worry.

She spent it drinking coffee and staring off into space, looking worried.

"Good morning," Ms. Readman said as she trundled into the library. Then she spotted the look on Rory's face and asked her, "Is something wrong?"

"Hmm?" Rory asked, sliding back into focus. "Oh, no. One of my friends went home and I'm worried about him."

Yomiko frowned. "Does he have a scary home?"

"Um. Sort of. He and his friends are getting into a dogfight-type thing and trying to blow something up and are generally just putting themselves in a ton of danger."

"Oh." Yomiko nodded. "Well, as long as none of them turn out to be a clone of Mata Hari, I'm sure it'll be all right?"

She spent it the same way, minus the coffee.

She spent it on her laptop, typing up all the notes she had made and depositing them in their file.

She spent it trying to decide if she could add anything to the file.

She couldn't.

She spent it pondering a small square of chocolate, but feeling entirely un-hungry.

She spent it poking at her cell phone, debating calling Luke but simultaneously not wanting to interrupt anything.

She spent it actually doing her job and putting away the returned book and dusting the shelves.

She spent it wondering if she would sleep tonight, and closing up the library.

And I am having an ick day, so I'll be in and out answering pings.
