The Danger Shop was an empty, windowless room when everyone came in. There were no chairs. In fact, there was nothing here at all except cream coloured walls, the students and Thursday and her cup of coffee.

"Welcome," Thursday said when the door to the Danger Shop closed. "How well do you know your classmates?" She gave them a moment to look around at the group assembled before continuing. "There is a traitor among us. Traitors, at least the ones that do their job well, are rarely suspected. They have an ulterior motive and work against the best interests of the group, but keep their motivations and actions concealed.

What's important to remember when dealing with a traitor in your midst is that you don't know who you can trust. All you can do is find out as much information as you can and decide who to trust. Sometimes that trust is based on fact. Sometimes it's based on pure instinct and requires a leap of faith.

Today's task is simple. Talk to as many people in this room as you can. Ask each other questions. Learn from their answers and from what they don't tell you. Learn to trust your own skills in deduction and in your intuition. If you can train it well, it will rarely fail you.

When you're done, come and tell me who you think the traitor is and why."

Tori glanced around the room, wondering who the traitor could possibly be. This was going to be an interesting class.

Layla was glancing around as well, and caught Tori's eyes. "Hey," she said with a sly tone. "How's it going?"

"Hey Layla." Tori greeted her, wondering if she could be the traitor. "It's going well. You?" She didn't think it was the case and Professor Next had said to trust her instincts.

Layla wasn't sure if Tori was the traitor either. She seemed too nice, but then, Layla thought that about everybody until she learned otherwise. "Pretty good. I'd be better if I was better at this game though."

Traitors weren't high on the list of things Peter liked to think about. But he looked around for people to talk to and suss out their intentions.

River leaned back on her chair. Discovering traitors was a piece of cake. Not as nice as the cake Pippi had made for her though.

"Hey River." Tori waved at her, smiling a bit. It was Friday and the cheerleading competition was tomorrow. She was a bit excited.

Or using Veritaserum (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/potions/potions-v.html#veritaserum). Or through special charms. Whichever.

Professor Next's way seemed much trickier.
