Chess Club [ 5pm FHT]

Ami was slightly nervous. She had a number of chess boards set up, all identical with black and white wooden pieces. The boards looked well cared for. She still had the handout from last meeting as well as the handout for this meeting.

"Hi everyone" she started nervously. "I thought today we can really start playing. There are boards set up, so go ahead and ask questions don't be afraid. Remember it is ok to ask for strategy help as well. We are all playing for fun here." She twisted a pawn in her hands nervously. "I was also thinking that other schools have Chess clubs and there are tournaments and things. If there is interest in going to something like that, I could talk to the Principal... Oh, and there are cookies in the back."

[wait for OCD is up. have fun. i am gone from 4pm EST until 10pm EST]

"I think alright. I do hope others are interested in going to a tournament." She grinned a bit excitedly. "And how are things with you? Were you a small child this past weekend?"

"A tournament sounds interesting. Do have any idea where?"

Chuckling, Aziraphale nodded. "Oh yes, I did spend a couple of days as a child. It really was a fascinating experience."

"I am not sure where, but they happen all over at different High Schools. I have looked this up on the internet. Too bad we cannot just go to Japan. There i know where to go for a tournament." She smiled at his choice of words. "Fascinating?"

"I don't see any reason why you can't go to Japan. Wasn't there just recently a trip into outer space?" Aziraphale asked, with a wink.

He nodded over his tea, and said in reply to Ami's question, "I've never had the experience of being a child before. It's something mortals take for granted, I suppose, but for me it was fascinating."

"Huh" was all Ami said. It had not occured to her to think a trip to Japan would be possible.

"I suppose it is true. And most of us do not really want to experience our childhoods again."

"Well, I do get the feeling that although there are a few things people wouldn't mind reliving, most don't care for the idea of being such a small child again. And I suppose I can understand that." Aziraphale smiled again. "But it was something."

"I bet." She grinned, imagining wee little wings.

"So, want to learn about this game?"
