Library, Monday [2/19]

Yomiko had spent the entire weekend holed up in her basement, working on a translation of Russian fairytales for extra cash. So she had no idea anything unusual had happened that weekend. Sometimes, it paid to be oblivious.

Lucas hesitated. He eyed her, wondering where and when she came from. "Of an experimental nature. Are you from a different time period to now? I mean, no offense, but you dress differently to early 21st century teenagers, so I figure...are you?"

Lucas had guessed past, but history wasn't his strong suit. "Well then maybe you'll understand what I'm doing. I found something, a portal I guess you could call it, but more of a random anomaly. The readings I get from it indicate that it's some kind of rift in time. I'm trying to figure out if it's a new thing or if it's been in Fandom before."

"Could be, or the past, or something completely unexpected. The only way to find out is to see what's on the other side." He was pleased that someone else was interested, and it seemed he was gathering a little group of observers. "You can come and watch if you want."
