Tremble Foolish Mortals: The Gods and You , Class Six [Period 5, Thursday]

Once again the class was meeting in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look like the kind of television studio boardroom you'd find all over Los Angeles. Ares looked especially sulky today.

"My half brother Hercules," he said. "Was a schulb. Half-god, half-mortal, and just because he had one of those strength of twenty men deals going on, thought he was better than both. The he gets picture deals, he gets television shows, I mean, a guy can't watch Aeon in peace anymore without coming across the schmuck."

"So today I'm not going to talk about Hercules," he touched a control, causing holograms of several different people to appear. "Since these television writers apparently know more about members of my family than I do, they're going to talk about Hercules."

He waved at the students. "Go on you little hellbeasts, have fun."

Melissa was looking perky, efficient and homicidal, at lesat when she was around Rob. She was also regarding the students with a kind of horror. "Hi. I'm not responsible for the content of the show. And I can't get you anyone's autograph."

"Oh, not that much. File, collate, copy, schedule. Re-arrange Rob's life so he can fish instead of doing the job he's paid for. Manage emergency crises, find new staffers, get rid of the bodies of the old ones, avoid Paul's passes, make excuses to the Studio, thwart, cheer and be the most perfect assistant on the planet despite never getting a raise or a chance for one of *my* scripts to be on the show." Melissa beamed at Annette. "Show biz is my life. Thank you for asking!"

Annette blinked and took all that in. "Seems to me you ought to be the highest paid assistant on the planet. You should get big bucks just for having to deal with the fish man."

"Oh, I'm dealing with him all right." Melissa glared at the back for Rob's head, then smiled brightly at Annette. "But thank you *so* much for saying so! I'm sure he'll take that into account during my annual performance review. When he asks me if I've slept with the head of the studio yet and decides to not to fire me."

Her brows shot upwards. "That is a consideration? Whether or not you've, uh, slept with the head of studio?"

"Only if it leads to our budget being increased. But Rob wouldn't mind that at all." Melissa smiled cheerfully and evilly. "But, I'm sure that won't be a problem for me for very long!"
