Library [02/15]

Bridge shuffles in to the library with coffee, his backpack, and his laptop. There's no talking furniture this time, so surely the day will be nice and routine, right?

...Right?

Working. Totally working. Not napping!

Bridge is rewriting his notes for the DAMM class, complete with colour-coding.

Now he's moved on to Superheroing.

Next up? Revolutions class notes.

Bridge puts his notes away in time for lunch. He doesn't want to accidentally spill on them, after all. Library's closed unless you work here.

And now he's nearly done- just Engineering notes left to do now.

Studying done, Bridge has moved on to attempting to look up former Green Rangers on Google. The most he can find is a handful of newspaper articles from Dr. Oliver's days on the racing circuit.

"Oh, hey, look at that," Z said as she walked into the library. "You're still alive. I was starting to wonder."

"Hey Z!" Bridge says brightly.

"Hi, Bridge. What's up?" Z asked, leaning on the desk.

"Uh, Doctor Oliver's short-lived but well-documented racing career?" Bridge says, turning his laptop so Z can see the search results.

"Well, he was cute. Reporters like cute. But besides that."

"Well, um," and then he thinks about what he's been up to the past week or so.

"Nothing much?" he tries to look innocent. It... doesn't really work.

"You're not very good at the lying thing, are you?" Z asked him.

"Not really, no," Bridge admits sheepishly.

"So what have you been up to lately? Me, I've been cheerleading and waving my roommate off on another intergalactic adventure, and oh yeah, I went on a date with D."

"Facing down scary space cannibals and then going to the Underworld to help vanquish the Source of All Evil," Bridge admits.

"...Wait. *Cheerleading*?"

"I'm on the cheerleading squad. I thought you knew.

...you what?"

"You never told me about that," Bridge points out. Of course, he'd neglected to mention Miranda and the Underworld, so...

"Yeah, well, I would like to point out that it's a much less serious infraction than, what was it, the lord of all evil?"

"Source," Bridge corrects absently. "And it's not like I actually *did* anything with the actual vanquishing part- I was just there to talk to Phoebe and convince *her* that she needed to help with the vanquishing part," he adds, his expression guilty. It's not like he'd *meant* to keep all this a secret from Z, really. It had just happened so fast.

"And you went to fight space cannibals? Without me? Bri-idge!"

"I'm sorry!" Bridge yelps. "It was just... kind of last minute that I was even going at all, really. And it wasn't my mission. If it was my mission I *totally* would have had you come with."

Z looked hurt at him.

"I am so, so, so sorry," Bridge says, "I should have told you."

"Darn right you should have told me!" Z snapped. "What if you'd been eaten by space cannibals? What would I have done then? What was I supposed to tell Cruger??"

"Uh," Bridge says, because he has no real answer for this. "That I did something very stupid?"

Z gave him a Look. "I think he would figure that part out on his own."

"I swear, next time I'll tell you," Bridge promises.

It doesn't really occur to him to just promise *not* to be reckless in the first place.

"You promise?" Z asked him warily.

"I swear," Bridge says. "I will totally be better about telling you stuff, because teammates should be honest with each other."

"And I can't be a very good teammate if I don't even know where you are. So, see, you're helping me."

Bridge spends seventh period tidying up the library in preparation for closing.

I want pie.

Yeah, well, people in Hell want...pie too.

Get in line.

But they're in Hell. In Hell, you don't get what you want. Ergo, no pie for them.
