Good morning and welcome to languages. I am Morpheus, Dream of the Endless. You may call me Dream.

Today I would like for us to get to know each other and talk about why we're here. Please take a few minutes to read the syllabus--if you have any questions about it, now's the time to ask. Then let's go around the room and introduce ourselves. Please also state why you're taking this class.

[ooc: rather than flood the comm with language classes, I'm going to have one general post for all classes and then comment groups for individual ones. Please comment with your class participation under the comment titled for your class.

Also I'm going to be at work all day and so will be in and out, mostly out. Will participate when I can.]

Anders comes jogging in, tousled and sweating from a two-hour run (though he flatters himself he's got that "healthy glow" look), pulls out a notebook and pencil from his back pocket, and sits down in a seat in the last row.

Coffee? Who needs coffee? Bring on the Classics!

Sark is slumped in his seat with a death grip on a cup of coffee. Despite the notebook, pen, textbook, and other educational accoutrements surrounding him, he looks only moderately awake.

Overly-cheerful classmates should be shot. Of all the mornings to forget my gun.

Rogue glances over at Julian, nodding her silent agreement. "He ought to install a coffee machine in the class room," she mutters.

Rogue, a little sheepish that's she's been caught talking in class, looks up at the professor. "Uh, sir, since I don't like coffee anyway, it's more of a hypothetical."

Sark is inclined to be respectful of this teacher, for some unknown reason. Best not to ignore a survival instinct.

And I doubt that one coffeemaker could provide an entire class with every variety and strength of coffee that such a myriad of people would prefer.

*mutters* There is, however, no excuse for obnoxious cheerfulness at any time.
