Crossposted because it's that important.
If you are not in the list that I posted a few days ago, have not been approved for posting at
There have been several instances of people who do not belong to this game reported to me. Unless and until enrollment is opened again and your character is personally approved by
This may eventually change but, as of right now, it's just the two of us... and I know damn well she hasn't approved anyone except our new webmaster in quite some time.
If this persists, everyone here should have these people friended and we will allow 'friends only' posts until the intruders desist.
Please be polite, but inform non-members that they cannot play here without first waiting for open enrollment and then being approved directly by
Thank you.

I take it the issue isn't so much the outside characters, as the confusion generated by the -duplicate- characters coming in from the outside.
Seriously, Spider... I love all the hard work you do, but the angry wake-up-call rules making in reaction to small incidents do NOT make for a friendly and fun environment. The Weapons Ban was harsh, but understandable. It left a bad taste in a lot of players' mouths, which got worse with the Death Threat fiasco, and now even worse with this.
I seriously enjoy it here... and I know others do too. I know others want to enjoy it here, but are continually hit with seeming hostility from the admins... and I believe you are posting in character, which is alright... but please, could you go to the individuals before doing something so big? I think that's what the main issue is here... Harsh, Impersonal rulings that slam down out of seemingly no where.
And again, Spider, I really do appreciate all the work you've put in... and honestly, next time you need help managing things, I will step up if you want me. It's a heckuva load to carry on one pair of shoulders.

Everyone who's been running stuff comes from different RP backgrounds. I have most of my playing experience from Milliways and modding from various small games, and we've not meshed, and stuff.
I'm also only the sideline admin.
But I'm happy to relay stuff, if you don't want to talk to other mods directly.

(Which is not to say that my old college D&D group did not get into some seriously insane situations, because OMG. I have stories.)

That's a very kind offer for you to make but I really must warn people away from this option unless there is no other way. Nothing loses credibility more than for only one person to go to a mod and say 'some people are having problems and they are afraid to come forward'. Staying anonymous and letting someone else take your case to a moderator or an administrator takes away from the strength and the energy of your argument.
Especially if the moderator finds out who had the problems. goes back to the people who didn't take it to them to begin with and the people downplay the problems. That leaves the middle man looking like a shit stirrer.
If people have a problem, both moderators have an email and they are really good about responding and addressing concerns one on one. It is highly recommended if you want to be heard, you take your complaints/issues/problems yourself and not use a mediator unless there is no other alternative.

That's the fastest way to give someone an ulcer.

For the tone, I can only partly apologize. I really, really do not like being walked across the top of after two weeks of mad scrambling and not really being able to actually play myself. It is doubly upsetting after knocking myself out trying to see to it that each and every player request and concern that hits my inbox is personally addressed.
The admins are trying, but it's a little bit disconcerting to find that unless you do speak very clearly and loudly, there are people who will tell you that you're just not trying hard enough or that you can't possibly really mean it.
I'm trying not to post anything when stressed out or upset, but the constant push-push-push after several public notices of 'No, you can't do that' is going to end up leaving me with very little else in the way of moods to deal with.
Which unfortunately leads to rather harsher than necessary sounding posts.
If I were angry... there would be heads rolling about the place. I'm just getting very, very sick of putting every second of my spare time into listening to player requests, trying to grant them or at least find middle ground, and then getting my head kicked in for not having produced a perfect utopia. It's simply easier to couch it in terms that, hopefully, no one can misunderstand or put their own spin on, and moving on.

I know that I, for one, appreciate all the hard work that you and the other admins have put into this place. I also want to thank you for addressing my own player issue the other day. It was very much appreciated.
This is my first RP, and I've had a lot of fun here, even without much interaction with other players. I hope to remedy this soon, but it's actually quite hard because my character isn't exactly an outgoing, fun person. We'll see how things develop. That's part of the fun. :)

And that's another thing: ALL of the teachers were supposed to be maintainers/mods in addition to characters. But every administrative decision is coming down from
Now, I know that

Could very well have gotten lost in all the noise and activity of the comm when we first startd. There was a fair amount of confusing activity there at the beginning.
Still, it's a good idea and now that rules are established, the idea can be revisited.
A suggestion? The threads in this entry are getting long and they've accordioned up. Drop a note to our creator making the suggestion.
Well ... when she gets back and gets caught up.
Or drop it on Spider/mod in an email. Looks like he'll be around all weekend.

Who knows though.
