Rory came in bright and early and smacked a poster on the door before positioning herself behind the desk as usual with her coffee.

She grabbed a stack of books, and spent the day deep in research - both her own personal problem, and for the problems with the shadows.

[I'm AFK most of the day, so please mod Rory if you need help with something. Wait for OCD is up and a little different today. Please wait for further OCD on the specific research thread, as it will be coming later while I am unconscious and people in Europe are not. That OCD is up, too! Whooooo!]

"I found a spell that might help," Wyatt said, pulling out a piece of paper with notes he'd scribbled down from the Book of Shadows:

I am light, I am one too strong to fight,
Return to dark where shadows dwell,
you can not have this Halliwell.
Go away and leave my sight,
And take with you this endless night.

Evie read it through, and nodded. "The bits about light should be effective-- What else rhymes with 'dwell' that could be more than a Halliwell? Or, maybe, sight?"

"Sight, fight, light," Wyatt mused. "Yeah, we'd want to take out the Halliwell specific part. Unless everyone gets adopted by me and my brother."

"Ummmm, yes." Evie smiled a little, then sobered. "I don't think we could do that before this spell needs to be done."

"Well, maybe we can find something in these books and tack the modified spell on the end," Wyatt said. "Can't hurt." Of course, he'd never cast a spell before, so what did he know?

Evie looked thoughtful. "Something more specific? And then add this, to give it more power? That might work. Oh, but these things are *always* so complicated," she fretted. "Rituals and motions and-- I wonder if the moon is full or dark tonight?"

"This is good, isn't it?" Evie looked hopeful. "Are you-- you know about spells." She studied him with wide eyes. "Do you know magic?"

"Ooooooo." Evie hitched forward in her seat a little, giving him a bright-eyed look. "So you can work the spell! Spells. Which ever it is. Oh, splendid!"

"Yeah, I should be able to," Wyatt said. "Magic is pretty strong in my family."

"Do you think it needs, um, herbs? Or chalk? Or, a wand? Hermione uses a wand for her magic," Evie confided. "So does Cedric. I'm rather jealous."

"Some of the spells in the Book need herbs and stuff, but this one didn't list any," Wyatt said thoughtfully. "And I don't need a wand. not dirty"

"Oh good, that does make it simpler." Evie breathed a sigh of relief. "Can you do it alone? Or rather--" She shot Chris a glance, looking worried. "Do you think just the two of you can do it?"

"I think so," Wyatt said slowly. "Some of the spells need the Power of Three, but this one didn't say it did."

"Would you be able to do it now? Or is there a time or place that would work better?" Evie wondered. "Forgive me, but I really don't know much about magic."

"Maybe I should wait to see what everyone else figures out first," Wyatt mused. "I wouldn't want to jump the gun and mess anything up."
