Extraterrestrial Civilizations - Class 4 [1/31, Period 4]

This afternoon found Ellie's desk surrounded by half a dozen stocky teddy-bear like creatures, poking at everything they could get their hands on. Ellie snatched a calculator away from one, giving him a warning look, and addressed the class. "Today's guests are Ewoks from the moon of Endor. They don't speak our language, but fortunagely they have a protocol droid with them to translate." She gestured to the silvery humanoid robot who now moved forward.

"Please give the Ewoks your attention," Ellie continued. "And remember, they may look cuddly, but they're not mere teddy bears."

Rory didn't squee.

Except she did make a little high-pitched squeaking sound for just a second.

"I have a tiny stuffed toy Ewok," Rory said to no one in particular. "His name is George. You all really are just like I've heard."

An Ewok chittered at Rory as it began trying to go through her belongings, looking for anything interesting.

Rory eyed it. "Hello," she greeted. "How are you today?"

"He is very pleased to be here to meet such interesting people," the droid translated for the Ewok.

"Aww, that's sweet," Rory said. She thought for a moment. "Have there ever been any Ewok Jedi?"

"I don't believe Ewoks have the dedication to master the Force," the droid said, a little disdainfully.

Rory smiled. "But are they ever Force-sensitive? Even if they're not masters of it."

"I don't think anyone's thought to test them," the droid said.
