Driver's Education - 3rd Period - 1/29

Upon entering the Dangerroomshop, the students would notice that it looked as though they stepped out into the parking lot. In the middle of the empty lot was a red VW Beetle and Deadpool leaning against it, grinning like a maniac. So, essentially he was smiling normally.

"Good morning little monsters who I'm constantly tempted to kill, but am restrained from doing so by the fact that I won't get paid if I do." Another happy grin, completely with a little head tilt. "We're driving for real today on a specially designed obstacle course, The Suburban Neighborhood. Stop signs, yield signs and children crossing signs galore!"

He held up a set of keys, jingling it like one would to amuse a baby. "I'll only be able to take you out one group at a time, and only one person from each group gets to drive sadly, but the other two can sit in the backseat and pray that we don't fly off a cliff and crash in a ball of fiery fiery death," Wade said in an attempt to cheer them all up. "The rest of you will wait here until it's your car's turn to go, please no alcohol, fighting, boykissy or flash photography while I'm gone."

MIGHTY SEMEN!

...Chad really missed the Bus. And Dave. A lot.

But he complied, as awkward as it was, wondering if this was really as far back as the seat went.

Check....with major adjustments, as the last person who probably drove this car was an old lady, and we weren't talking Bea Arthur here. Annnnd, with a turn of the ignition, check.

"Uhh, right." Clutch. Got it.

Chad was finding it a little hard to concentrate on things like the clutch with the conversation coming from the backseat.

Easy for him to say. Chad actually had a pretty decent firsthand knowledge of just how bendy they could be... But he grunted and focused on the road. 'Distraction from bendy' probably wasn't a defense that would hold up in a manslaughter case against running over a five year old and her puppy.

Great, now Ranma was starting in on it, too.

"Y...yeah," Chad said, slowly started ambling that way, reminding himself that this is not joyriding in a hijacked car through the city streets in Mexico. Not nearly as fun. And he wasn't even drunk. Or twelve anymore.

There was a slight moment for glaring into the rear-view mirror before checking for cars and clowns, because, guys? Plotting violence against him didn't work very well when he was right there.

Sad thing was, he knew that if they did start kicking? He'd just take it. And he doubted Senor Deadpool would do anything about it either.

Chad sighed, and checked for cars and clowns. All clear. Proceeding forward.

Unfortunately, the radio was flipped on just after Chad caught that comment from the back, which promptly inspired a sudden slamming of the breaks. Ugh. "S..sorry," he muttered an apology to Senor Deadpool and, shoulders hunched just slightly more than they already were from the cramping into the seat, ambled on.

...Speaking of bendy....

Chad shook his head, tried to get a hold on the usual one-trackness of his mind to focus on driving and only driving and continued along down the street.

But Ranma was right. He was a big guy. Not that Ranma would actually know...

It ended up being a really sharp left. Not intentionally. Chad just got a little excited.

Chad would maintain, if he had to, that he was merely actively trying to promote good passenger safety habits.

But the sudden stops were from focusing on not crashing and dying! Chad tried, reestablishing a focus and doing as best he could in a car too small for him with the conversation going on behind him. It wasn't easy, but he was managing to avoid squirrels all the same.
