Detention - The Danger Shop (January 27)

"You're all here because you're bad, bad little children." He looked at Deadpool. "And bad, bad little masked professors." He looked at the lottery winners. "Or because you have bad luck. Whatever. Shut up and get in the maze." He pointed to the rest of the Danger Shop, which was set up as a giant hedged labyrinth. "Leave any weapons you shouldn't have anyway over there," he looked pointedly at one or two of the detainees. No, just one really. "Take a packed lunch." He pointed to the bags. "You're gonna need it. Get in there, complete the four tasks along the way and get the prize off the thing guarding it. Or you could sit there and look like a girl and get detention again next week."

Molly knew of one way to shut someone up... don't let them get a word in edgewise. She turned toward the voice and started talking.

"So are all the gods blue where you're from because Ares teaches a class here and he isn't blue. That's a cool hat. Are those little wing thingies on your ankles only on your boots or do they stick into your actual ankle? I think that would hurt. Did it hurt? Do gods feel pain? Because I think, as a god, you would just be able to make it go away. Can you do that? I like your little scepter thingy too. Did you win it or was it a gift? Does the top of it symbolize anything? What does it symbolize? Can I try on your hat?"

"Okay, I like you." The god wasn't quite as impressed because it had already dealt with Blair, and that was a hard act to follow. "Some are red and pink and yellow and all colors, and Hades isn't so much blue as a twisted cerulean gone wrong. Thanks, love the hat, got it at Hot Topic. The little wing thingies are all me, and they don't hurt so much because I was born with them. We can kinda feel pain, but it depends on what's being thrown at us, and yeah, we can mostly make it go away unless we're in too much pain to concentrate. I've never had to try. My sceptre is the bomb. It's so great. I love it. I carry it everywhere, you know. The top symbolises something that Hades doesn't know, so he didn't program it in, which is a shame, but I think it's pretty. And sure, little girl, you can try on my hat." He handed it over.

Okay, that plan hadn't worked. Oh well.

"Cool," Molly said and accepted the hat, taking her hat off so that she could put the other one on. "Cool," she said again as she adjusted it a bit. "You wanna try mine on?" She held the simple knit hat out to the god.

"Oooh yeah. That's a really nifty hat you've got there." He pulled the hat on, but it was too big for his tiny head and it flopped over his eyes. "Uh-oh, I can't see." He kept trying to readjust it, but it kept getting out of control. "Uh, little help little girl?"

"Okay!" Molly said, getting an idea. She stepped closer, reached up and pulled the hat down to cover the god's face completely. Then she ran for it, on to lunch.

"Whoa, what just happened?" The god couldn't see anything, but he kept flying around blind. "Jane! Jane, stop this crazy thing!"
