Detention - The Danger Shop (January 27)

"You're all here because you're bad, bad little children." He looked at Deadpool. "And bad, bad little masked professors." He looked at the lottery winners. "Or because you have bad luck. Whatever. Shut up and get in the maze." He pointed to the rest of the Danger Shop, which was set up as a giant hedged labyrinth. "Leave any weapons you shouldn't have anyway over there," he looked pointedly at one or two of the detainees. No, just one really. "Take a packed lunch." He pointed to the bags. "You're gonna need it. Get in there, complete the four tasks along the way and get the prize off the thing guarding it. Or you could sit there and look like a girl and get detention again next week."

Sam made an "ack!" noise and squirmed, trying to get away, before his hair became irreparably messed up.

The kitten didn't try to keep him in one place, but it did keep trying to lick him until he was out of reach. "Mrowr," the kitten sulked and tilted its head at Sam.

"Oh, don't make that noise," Sam said, not wanting to weaken and give in to the sulking. "Here's the deal. You get one more lick, and then you have to let me go, okay?"

The kitten thought about it, then meowed in agreement. It gave Sam one big lick that went all the way up his side from his ankles to his now matted hair.

Content, the kitten sat back and waited.

It was only through sheer force of will that Sam didn't shudder and try to fix his hair for the moment. "Good kitty," he said weakly, before taking his chance and fleeing further into the maze.
