Detention - The Danger Shop (January 27)

"You're all here because you're bad, bad little children." He looked at Deadpool. "And bad, bad little masked professors." He looked at the lottery winners. "Or because you have bad luck. Whatever. Shut up and get in the maze." He pointed to the rest of the Danger Shop, which was set up as a giant hedged labyrinth. "Leave any weapons you shouldn't have anyway over there," he looked pointedly at one or two of the detainees. No, just one really. "Take a packed lunch." He pointed to the bags. "You're gonna need it. Get in there, complete the four tasks along the way and get the prize off the thing guarding it. Or you could sit there and look like a girl and get detention again next week."

This time, the kitten was singed by the flames. It batted at its own whiskers, trying to stop the uncomfortable tingling. Cranky and sulky all wrapped into one furrball, the kitten pounced at Zuko with its trademark 'zomg noes!' expression.

Zuko's eyes widened as the kitten pounced. There was little point in trying to outrun a giant kitten so he did the first thing he could think of; he stood his ground and at the last instant tried to jump and grab hold of the kitten's whiskers.

The kitten's whiskers were sensitive, damn it, so when Zuko grabbed hold, it jerked its head back, sending Zuko hurtling over its head. If he was good enough, he probably just got himself a ride.

Zuko's reflexes weren't all in all too bad. He managed to grab hold of the fur and after some struggling he was sitting up on the kitty's back. He tugged firmly to get the kitten to stop.

The kitten was still sulking, but stopped, then crouched on all fours and settled on the ground, putting its head down. "Mrowr," it cried.

"Do you surrender, foul beast?" Zuko asked, not yet ready to give up his safe position. You know, in case the kitten had a sense of honour and would do so.

The kitten responded by flopping onto its side suddenly.
